This week, we dive into the conclusion of One Room, where we take a deeper look into what goes behind closed doors at the Guild.

This week, we found Waldo feeling a little groggy. He awoke with a clap o’ thunder, then he told us of some nightmarish adventure he had where he pillaged the neighboring warehouse of their pieces of eight (doubtful), abandoned his ship nearly immediately after setting sail (we did find a cardboard box with a skull painted on it in the back, so… maybe?), and drank enough rum to fill a coffer (all right, that one’s possible). After he was done pulling our pegleg, we got him out of our hair by suggesting that a mutiny was stirring, and he’d have to protect his plunder.
So while he’s out battening down the hatches, we felt it was a good time to reveal some more special edition models that will be available at Gen Con!
Malifaux Third Edition’s first Nightmare Box just washed ashore, and it looks like quite a treasure, er, booty. Living landlubbers look elsewhere, because the Brine and Bones box was made for buccaneers who would give no quarter to dig up this bounty. You won’t have to swim down to Davy Jones’ Locker to get your hands on it, either!
Okay, that’s enough pirate-y talk. Let’s take a gander at what you’ll find in the Brine and Bones Nightmare box, starting with the alt-Molly, Mary “Blacktongue” Bonnet, scourge of the seas.
But she’s not the only zombified seadog you’ll find. Here are (arrrr! – okay, really, that’s the last one, probably) the other Nightmare edition models you’ll find in Brine and Bones:
Nani and the Voice (which counts as Philip and the Nanny)
Wayward Mariner (which counts as the Necrotic Machine)
3 Skellywags (which count as Rabble Risers)
…and a hat for Arrrchie!
The only way to get your hornswagglin’ hands on them is to cough up yer doubloons and scoop it up at this year’s Gen Con or during our Gen Con web sale! Make sure to set sail to Indianapolis (or, you know, the world wide web) to be the first to add the Brine and Bones box to your Malifaux collection. And if you don’t, Waldo will make you walk the plank.
Check out what their models will look like below!
Craving some Malifaux Third Edition content before the Faction Books reach store shelves? Well, we have good news! There are now two new destinations for you to sink your teeth into. The first one is on our website.
First and foremost, the Malifaux Third Edition section of the site has been updated!
Head on over to find new resources like the M3E Core Rulebook, a Keyword index filled with all of the currently released models (and more will be added to the list as soon as they become available), Master pages that cover their general gameplay, lore, and art (Oooo), and much more.
Secondly, if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on cards for a specific model or Crew that is currently out, then wait no more!
You can now find a bunch of Malifaux Third Edition cards by heading over to Wargame Vault. We will be adding more cards to the site in the next few weeks, so make sure to check back in for alt cards, Strategies and Schemes, and others, as we’ll be regularly adding more and more content there.
This week we found Waldo digging a few graves in the back alleys behind our warehouse. He even made a friend to help him out with his human-sized pot-holes, though she didn’t really seem to be helping as much as gleefully enjoying the new spectacle. They both had so much fun with the whole ordeal he unceremoniously asked for her to join us at Gen Con. But that predicament isn’t for a few weeks. Today’s dilemma is finding our missing office cat, Mr. Fluffernutter, our warehouse staff is getting a touch nervous.
At this year’s Gen Con we’ll be bringing with us some special edition models for you Wyrdos to pick up, including this year’s “Miss” model – Miss Feasance. As one of the few in Malifaux who can keep up with the wits of our favorite Haberdasher, Miss Feasance is able to take his place on the tabletop and lead the Redchapel crew through the seediest parts of the Quarantine Zone.
Miss Feasance will be provided with all purchases of $100 or more made during our Gen Con promotions*, so swing by our booth and give us a holler, or for those who cannot make it to Gen Con, she will be available online during that time as well.
We’re looking forward to the Best Four Days in Gaming™ and look forward to seeing you there.
*Offer only valid while supplies last.
Episode 108 of Tales of Malifaux is now live!
This time around, we dive into the stories in Broken Promises for the first time, starting with the Part 1 of the Guild’s story, One Room.

This week, we don’t have anything particularly special going on in the office. Despite our reports last week, the end times didn’t happen. Waldo is up to his usual self, eating everything in sight that he hasn’t already set on fire. We did have to get a boat just to navigate our flooded warehouse, but who doesn’t like a quiet night on a lazy river?
Oh, I guess there was one thing we should probably announce…
That’s right. You can download the Malifaux Third Edition Core Rules right now, for free, two days early. In the rulebook, you’ll find everything you need to know on how to play the game.
But that’s not all. We have also released our M3E Stat Cards early. What you’ll find on the site today are all of the Stat Cards that you would find in the Faction Packs, which includes all of the standard previously released Stat Cards from the last edition. This is a great way to start playing with the models you have right now!
If you’re looking for higher quality card stock, you will be able to find these cards on DriveThruRPG/WarGameVault next week. If you’re interested in writing on your cards, then your best bet is to scoop up the Faction Pack of your choice, as those cards will have that nice, glossy finish that will allow for dry erase markers to be wiped away without any smudging.
Any cards for future models will become available on our website in the very near future. When a new model is released, its Stat Card will become available during the same month. Because it’s June, the Stat Cards for Basse, Youko, and Burning Bridges are currently available. Come September, when all of the Faction Books are out in the wild, all Stat Cards for M3E will be available on our website for free, as well.
As a reminder, all of our free content on our website is for personal use only and not for resale, print, or inclusion in any third party apps.
That’s it from us. You won’t want to miss next week!
This past week, we’ve been frantically prepping for the retail release of Third Edition. In a huge miscommunication between us and Waldo, we found him stacking cans and jars full of pickled who-knows-what in the warehouse. Before he had the opportunity to dig up the floor to build a bomb shelter, we did our best to explain that what he was doing was a very different type of prepping. Releasing M3E won’t be the catalyst to the end of days. We hope.
So, to celebrate not having to prepare for Armageddon, we are taking a look into the creative ingenuity of Malifaux’s oldest engineer, Leveticus.
This resourceful genius has worked in Malifaux since the re-opening of the Breach, bringing a variety of special services to the denizens of Malifaux. Whether a magical artifact or ancient text, Leveticus always has the goods needed within his storefront, available to anyone within the city walls. And if he doesn’t have it, he has the resources to find it.
While he may be seen as a having a calm demeanor and welcoming smile to his clientele, Leveticus ultimately hides his goals of immortality, choosing to work on his twisted abominations in secret, even coming as far as splitting fragments of his own soul into the waifs that have wandered into his shop.
With the crackdown on mercenaries within the confines of Malifaux City via orders from Governor-General Marlow, Leveticus has not only lost his best customers, but also the hunters he relied upon to procure his goods. Now, in order to keep up his wares, he must rely on the services of his most trusted assistant, Rusty Alyce, and the Quarantine Zone Scavengers that come to him for black market augmentations as his only means of finding enough equipment to continue his illicit experiments, lest he succumbs to the inevitability of death.
Check out what ol’ Levy and his Crew will look like in Malifaux Third Edition!
