+ GAME DESIGNER - NARRATIVE FOCUS

Wyrd Miniatures, LLC. is currently looking for a full time Game Designer with a focus on narrative direction to work on new and ongoing projects. This position offers the opportunity to get involved in game design and development at an established game publisher. Successful candidates must possess a love of writing, the initiative to push yourself to contribute, and the motivation to take on any tasks required. Game design experience is a plus, but not required.

This position is located in Marietta, GA.

Primary Job Duties

  • Work on current and future game releases. With an emphasis on writing, editing, and assisting in component design, you will work on content creation for games such as Through the Breach, Malifaux, the Other Side, and more.
  • Work directly with the Creative Director to ensure that all project specifications are on target both conceptually and in terms of timeframe.
  • Collaborate with the entire team, building upon ideas through constructive feedback.
  • The ability to bring ideas and characters to life through written presentation.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of the Malifaux world and its characters.
  • Maintain a professional presence through written and verbal communication while interacting with the game community while developing an understanding of our customers’ wants, wishes, and concerns.
  • Assist at conventions and trade shows, including set up, demos, customer service, and breakdown.
  • Other duties, as assigned, to assist in the office and warehouse, as needed.
  • Possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Requirements

A familiarity with a variety of games and systems including: miniatures, RPG, card, and board games, with a deep knowledge base of our games (Malifaux, The Other Side, and Through the Breach). A successful candidate will possess the ability to capture the correct tone of established characters while painting accurate depictions of existing environments. Additionally, we are looking for a candidate who is able to maintain a strong understanding of grammar to write clearly and concisely, as well as having the willingness to edit the content from other sources.

  • Solve problems quickly and effectively, utilizing critical analysis skills.
  • Maintain a professional presence through written and verbal communication while interacting with the game community and developing an understanding of our customers’ wants, wishes, and concerns.
  • Assist at conventions and trade shows, including set up, demos, customer service, and breakdown.
  • Other duties, as assigned, to assist in the office and warehouse, as needed.

Requirements

Understanding of a variety of games and mechanics including: miniatures, RPG, card, and board games. The ability to identify what makes a game fun while also understanding what makes it work. A proven ability to write clearly and concisely. Work independently as well as in teams, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. A strong candidate will be very familiar with Malifaux with a passion for its history.

Successful game design experience is a bonus.

+ CONCEPT AND CHARACTER ARTIST

Wyrd Miniatures, LLC. is currently looking for a full time On-site Concept and Character Artist. This position will be responsible for working with the Wyrd team to create the visuals for new and existing game lines.

While Wyrd appreciates individual creativity and style, a successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to match current visuals for Malifaux, The Other Side, and Through the Breach.

This position is located in Marietta, Georgia.

Primary Job Duties

  • Provide line and color concepts, up to print quality full color illustrations that fall with-in the design profile of Wyrd Miniatures’ established lines.
  • Work closely with a team to bring life to new concepts through digital visual representation.
  • Work directly with the Creative Director to ensure that all project specifications are on target, both conceptually and in terms of timeframe.
  • Assist Creative Director as needed with direction and communication of outsourced projects.
  • Flexibility in taking on new projects with the willingness to contribute to additional tasks outside of concept and character development.
  • Maintain extensive digital database of art assets.

  • The proven skill to draw characters and settings that fall in Wyrd’s design profile.
  • A commitment to hitting deadlines and turning around requests in a timely manner.

+ WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Wyrd Miniatures, LLC. is currently looking for full time Warehouse Associates to help with various tasks around the warehouse. This is a temporary assignment with the potential to become full-time. A successful candidate must be available to work July – August.

This position is located in Marietta, GA.

Primary Job Duties

  • Daily processing of customer orders.
  • Assist with the building of products.
  • Other duties, as assigned, to assist in the office and warehouse, as needed.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail
  • Familiar with pull/pack is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Familiarity with Wyrd products is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, un-assisted.
  • Stand, twist and move for long periods of time.
  • Be available for work between July 2nd – August 31st
