First game
Hello
I got my first game in yesterday, thank you Goblyn13.
I played Nicodem vs. Rasputina and won 4 to 2. It was the best game I've played in quite a few years. Everything played smoothly and was alot of fun.
Thanks for making such a great game, it the game I've been looking for for the last
few years. I love the card mechanics and the fact that everything is well balanced.
I do have a question though. I really like the art in the fate decks but after watching the demo from gencon 08 and seeing those cards I was wondering if they will ever be made available? I just like the feel of the old west style cards.

Welcome, and pleased to hear that Matt hooked you good.
As for the fate deck, who knows, maybe there will be alternative decks in the future, its certainly not out of the question, but as of now, not on the design table as there is plenty on it already.I'm often asked what genre and elements make up Malifaux ... that's simple, its: Steamvictoriohorrorwestpunk! Hope that clears it up for you.

Where are you and goblyn playing at, Ken? I've got a buddy in Vancouver that will be itching to get some games in as soon as his stuff comes in, and I come down from Olympia to visit him now and then, we'd love to jump in on a game if you guys frequent a store in the area.

I figured the fate decks where a long shot but had to ask.

I mostly play down at Knightfall games in Beaverton, usually on Sundays. Let me know when you guys plan on coming down and I'll see what I can do.
Once I get my boxes painted up I'm thinking I'll be applying for the henchmen program.

The decks are based on standard card decks (52 + 2 Jokers) so if you find a themed deck you really like you could always use that instead.

Hey Blkdymnd if you ever end up heading North, you can look our newly burgeoning group up at Games & Gizmos in Redmond on Weds and or Thurs nights. There's a good number of people at the store who play already, and we're working on converting more.
Ken! Glad to see you're joining in on this insanity! Punch D in the nuts for me, would you?
I feel the same way about the game - this is the one I've been looking for. Good job Wyrd! (now we just need to work on your technical writing skills and tighten up some residual looseness in the rulebook :D)

Great to hear you enjoyed it! As for cards, I still do have the files for them on my computer, and we've been thinking about making more special decks in the future, so you just never know.
We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.
