Give that snake thingie a name POLL!

Hey folks,

First, my apologies for the delay on getting something picked out for this particular critter. It's been a busy time here and I'm on the road right now but I've finally gotten a chance to settle down and make a run through the list and found a LOT of names that I really liked and thought were imaginative and although I might not pick them this time around for this particular critter, a few of the names have really stuck with me and given me some ideas as well.

In the mean time, I've gone through this list that was helpfully put together by Major Arcane and highlighted the ones I liked best (and one that got me laughing the most) and I just can't make up my mind.

Consequently, I'm going to place a POLL up and let everyone come on in and select which one they like the best and the winning name in the poll will fall to the critter!

The poll will be open for three days and you'll have the option of voting for two names and the poll will be open to the public (meaning folks will be able to see what you voted for).

The winner naturally gets the two miniatures that we promised early on and the follow ups who made it into the poll will get a gift certificate as way of saying thanks! Also, two random poll participants in the voting will receive a gift certificate for taking the time to join in.

One of the names is close to my suggestion, but obviously not mine.

Spinewyrm was in mine - Greater-Fanged Blind Spinewyrm

I'd hate to say it, but Spinewyrm sounds very generic and boring compared to the other names. Most of the other choices have a decent amount of flavor to them, but Spinewyrm is just so blah compared to them...

(and for the record, none of my choices are up there, so I'm not just trying to sway the vote in favor of mine).

One other note of concern, if it matters:

In most standard fantasy/mythology that I'm aware of wyrm means a great dragon, where as wurm is the spelling for a large land-dwelling monster-worm/snake-like thing, much like what you see in the artwork for this thing. Wouldn't it be more appropriate for the suggestions to be SpinewUrm instead of SpinewYrm? I don't see anything in that artwork that suggests it is some ancient great dragon. It looks very similar to the artwork for all the wUrms I've seen.

lawl. just goes to show how totally subjective this all is. I read this AFTER I voted for that name as the breakaway fave of mine.

It didn't take my vote for Scyth Serpent, either. My other vote went through fine.
