    Week 9

Week 9 has passed, and we have slightly more than one more week to go in the Summer Campaign. Our surprise this week comes from the Outcasts, who have managed to take the second Home sector. They have wrested Deadwalks City from the Ressers, launching them into a health lead for first place. Though hanging onto this territory by a slim thread, it will be interesting to see if they can maintain their grip on the Deadwalks in the same fashion that the Neverborn and holding onto the Downtown area.

This week the guild and the Outcasts added to CP to their total, though with Storm of Shadows already released at GenCon, I do not foresee much of a preview for the Outcasts this week. Maybe a sneak at the stats of one of their Minions would be in order. Keep listening to the Breachside Broadcasts to hear what is happening in the lands of Malifaux.

    Current CP Standings:
    Outcast: 10
    Neverborn: 8
    Arcanists: 6
    Resurrectionists: 4
    Guild: 3

Four sectors changed hands, with the main change being the Resurrectionist losing their home sector. The Ressers balanced their three point loss with taking two sectors with a combined three CP value. The Guild took the fourth sector from the Arcanists, but still keeping them in last place.

    Now for the Numbers:
Total games dropped again this week, with only 456 games recorded this week. The universe has righted itself this week, with the attackers gaining the advantage again. Attacking wins were at 57% this week, with only the Arcanists recording more defensive then offensive victories.

    Combat by Faction:

    Arcanist:
    Games – 95
Attacking Wins - 39, 41% of the time
Defending Wins - 56, 59% of the time

    Guild:
    Games – 96
Attacking Wins - 80, 83% of the time
Defending Wins - 16, 17% of the time
The Guild made a concerted effort against the Downtown area this week, gaining 62 SP in that sector, while the Neverborn only added 22 SP to their total.

    Neverborn:
    Games – 89
Attacking Wins - 45, 51% of the time
Defending Wins - 44, 49% of the time

    Outcast:
Games – 97 - Most games reported this week
Attacking Wins - 50, 52% of the time
Defending Wins - 47, 48% of the time

    Resurrectionists:
    Games – 79
Attacking Wins - 46, 58% of the time
Defending Wins - 33, 42% of the time

    Sectors in Jeopardy:

This week there are six sectors in Jeopardy. While this is not uncommon it is where these sectors are that makes this week interesting.

The Arcanists are in the best position to maintain their current Sectors and to increase their holdings. The Arcanists narrowest lead in any of their sectors is still 54 points ahead of their closest rival, making it unlikely that they will lose any of these sectors this campaign. They are also in position to add another sector to their total, this will bring them to 8 CP, which may be enough to win the campaign, but it will be a close fight with the Outcasts.

The Resurrectionists are in the Weakest position, with all three of the current sectors they hold likely going to someone else this week. Their one saving grace is that they have a good shot at reclaiming Deadwalks City, but having only 3 CP at the end of the day will still put them at the bottom of the pile.

As far as the Campaign Goes, the Guild with their Current 3 CP, with one of their sectors in Jeopardy of being lost, makes them very unlikely to be able to gain enough CP move beyond fourth place in the Campaign

Sector 13 – The Southern Slums, currently held by the Resurrectionists. For the second week the Guild has as many SP as the Ressurectionists do here. This is the week to take these easy points away from eth Ressers.

Sector 12 – The Howling Slums, currently held by the Ressers. Looks like this territory will exchange hands again, with only a 2 SP margin the Ressers will have a hard time holding onto this one. Seems this land will always be overrun with Zombies and Gremlins, neither of which will ever truly hold the upper hand.

Sector 3 – The Northern NCZ, currently held by the Guild. While the Guild managed to take this zone from the Arcanists they have only a 6 point lead on them.

Sector 9 – Deadwalks City, currently held by the Outcasts. The Resurrectionists are likely to focus on regaining this 3 CP sector this week, and since they only need 8 SP to achieve this, the Outcasts will have a hard time keeping this zone.

Sector 2 – Downtown, currently held by the Neverborn. Last week the Guild showed that it had the ability to gain ground here, and with that same determination they will likely regain the Downtown area.

Sector 11 – The Burns, currently held by the Resurrectionists. This is the third Resurrectionist sector that is likely to fall this week, this time to the Neverborn.

    Best Targets by Faction:

    Arcanists:
vs. Guild - Sector 3 – Northern NCZ, Needing 66 SP, Only likely Gain the Arcanists will see this week.
vs. Neverborn - Sector 15 – Southern Docks, Needing 17 SP, definitely within reach
vs. Outcast - Sector 6 - Warehouse District, Needing 25 SP, slowly gaining on the Outcasts here, but not gaining fast enough
vs. Resurrectionist - Sector 13 – Southern Slums - Needing 110 SP, not going to happen

    Guild:
vs. Arcanists - Sector 4 – Industrial Zone - Needing 54, If you have to play the Arcanists, may as well play here
vs. Neverborn - Sector 2 - Downtown - Needing 11 SP, with gaining 40 points in this sector last week, the Guild looks focused on reclaiming this Zone
vs. Outcast - Sector 10 – Salvage and Logistics - Needing 33 SP, not looking good but an outside chance
vs. Resurrectionist - Sector 13 – Southern Slums - Needing 0 SP, The Guild failed to gain this area again last week, they need to take it this time

    Neverborn:
vs. Arcanists - Sector 14 – Northern NCZ - Needing 125 SP, the Arcanists are safe this week from any new losses
vs. Guild - Sector 1 – Western Slums - Needing 24 SP. With substantial gains last week, this is a decent possibility
vs. Outcast - Sector 10 – Salvage and Logistics - Needing 133 SP, time to just leave the Outcasts alone and to focus on what can be taken
vs. Resurrectionist - Sector 11 – The Burns - Needing 19 SP, Best chance to succeed this week for the Neverborn

    Outcast:
vs. Arcanists - Sector 14 – Southgate - Needing 143 SP, Look to the Ressers for gains this week, and ignore the Arcanists
vs. Guild - Sector 3 – Northern NCZ - Needing 82 SP, Let the Arcansists and Guild fight it out, nothing to be gained here
vs. Neverborn - Sector 15 – Southern Docks - Needing 80 SP, if you have to attack the Neverborn, may as well do it here
vs. Resurrectionist - Sector 12 – Howling Slums - Needing 2 SP, good place to gain 2 CP, and likeliest area for the Outcasts to take

    Resurrectionists:
vs. Arcanists - Sector 14 – Southgate - Needing 62 SP, Once within the Resser’s grasp, now so far far away
vs. Guild - Sector 3 – Northern NCZ - Needing 150 SP, The Guild should really be left to the Whims of the MS&U and the Neverborn
vs. Neverborn - Sector 15 – Southern Docks - Needing 110 SP again, let the Neverborn be someone elses problem while you focus on the Outcasts territories
vs. Outcast - Sector 9 – Deadwalks City - Needing 7 SP, 3 CP ripe for the taking

    Sectors Least Likely to fall:

Sector 8 - The Quarantine Zone - Held by the Neverborn – They still hold a 3 Digit margin. Never mess with the Neverborn on their home soil

Sector 7 - The Little Kingdoms - Held by the Outcasts – Again the Outcasts increase their buffer. This Land is firmly in Outcasts hands

Sector 14 – Southgate – Held by the Arcanists. With a 70 SP buffer, while there was a time this territory could have fallen into Resurrectionists hands, it will Ramain firmly in Ramos’ grasp.

    Predictions:

    Week 9 CP Projections:
    Neverborn: 7
    Outcast: 7
    Arcanists: 6
    Resurrectionists: 6
    Guild: 4

    Week 9 CP Results:
    Outcast: 10
    Neverborn: 7
    Arcanists: 6
    Resurrectionists: 4
    Guild: 3

The Outcasts Dark Horse run to the top was the surprise. The Guild tried to get to 4 CP, and failed to achieve this by a single SP.

    Week 10 CP Projections:
    Arcanists: 8
    Outcast: 8
    Neverborn: 6
    Guild: 5
    Resurrectionists: 3

    Week 10 Special Rules

No special rules for this week.

Good luck all, and may fate always cheat in your favor.
