Thanks for taking the time to craft this post, FS. Does the Dead Rider have Immune to Influence?

Interesting. Though at 10 points, I'd be a bit nervous about someone with a construct kill.

The dead rider with a grave spirit attached can be very difficult to kill. I've had sword vik burn a whole activation and deal a total of 4 wds. Three of which were promptly healed when dead rider activated. Given the right placement he can pull a model about fifteen inches from where it started. McMourning could be nowhere near the Hoff ball of death and all of a sudden a key model is sitting right in front of him. Hoff without his ride is very easy to deal with for someone as quick as McMourning.

Yeah, but C. Hoffman only has to deal 1 would, and if you've spent any control cards that round, he can assure its demise.

well if your using von schill to get rid of counters i think your points are better spent else where. disection leaves no counters, and you should ignore hoff and go after his goons. plus datsue ba does a better job of staying alive than an onryo and its only 2 pts more. plus dont underestimate the power of flesh constructs :P

Von Shills has several uses in that list. First by bringing him you can have two totems thus have the grave spirit for the dead rider. Second what he is implying with taking care of scrap is for the stuff that is killed. Not necessarily by McMourning. Hoffman can make scrap blow up and use them to heal himself and other constructs, there are times you want to deny him those and don't want or have the chance for McMourning to do the blow and use his spell.

I imagine Von Shill's main use though is his survivability and range threat. With armor Hoffman can take it better then most but Von Shill can still move around and plug damage here and there while fulfilling objectives. Not to mention he could track down and kill Watchers if necessary to deny activations and prevent objectives. Also you can have him in the forward position to lure in the attack, and with his abilities you can survive and retaliate. Between the Dead Rider, Von Shill, and McMourning you have an interesting mobile options.

That said, it comes down to your choices on the matter, many refuse to consider Von Shill and prefer pure Resser options.
