New player looking for input
Hi every one first of I would like to say im putting two lists up as both me and the missus are starting malifaux, we would like some input if these gangs would play very well.
we have gone for gangs we like back ground and look of so not comp style till we get in to it and others from our club also have finished painting and playing so here go'es
Pandora,Primordial Magic,Baby Kade,Candy,Sorrow x3,Teddy,Gupps x2.
And the other gang is
Kirai Ankoku,Lost Love,Datsue-Ba,Gaki x2,Jaakuna Ubume,Onryo x2,Seishin x2.
these are both 35ss pointed gangs.
So any help is welcome and thanks in advance.

It looks like you've got a pretty good pool of models to start with. I'll defer to the Pandora and Kirai players for more detailed advice, but I can offer a few tidbits:
If you want to use the Gupps, I'd look at getting a Spawn Mother. If you have a copy of Twisting Fates, consider proxying Teddy as a Spawn Mother for a few games so you can see how the Gupps and the Swamp Mother work together.
Later on, you might want to look at Lilitu and Lelu, and a pack of Stitched Together. All three are quite powerful.
For Kirai, you want a total of 5 Seishin. They are a key component for her. Once you get used to how Kirai works, look at Ikiryo (a good melee model and a great fluffy choice) and especially a Shikome (highly mobile and quite nasty).Official Scribe of the Unofficial Malifaux Find a Game/Opponent Listing.
I coined the term "Classicfaux." Not much of a claim to fame, but I'll take what I can get.

Good advice from Dustcrusher.
As for Gupps... I'm not a fan of them myself (but thats just me) you'll do better with a Spawn Mother as said. Pandora just doesn't have much synergy with them as much as she could from the Insidious Madness and Stitched together. For Kirai yes you'll need the 5 Sheshins, maybe later get an Ikiryo & Shikome (both great aditions).
Hope this helps.

thanks for the input the gupps are mostly because she like's the models and wanted to include them. but if there not good for the options she has at the moment she's willing to change them out for somthing else.
on the Kirai side of things what would you recomend replacing to get the extra sheshins in?
Cheers

If you have the models I'd go more for a swarm list with Kirai. I'd drop the Onryo at least and add in some extra gaki and Seishin. That to start with if you are just looking to stay fluffy and want more room for Seishin.

You dontneed to fit them in as much as own the models as she summons them quite easily through deaths of other spirits (if i remember correctly).
Usually our local player has 1 or 2 at the starting and cycles the others throughout the game.
As for the Gupps, if she likes them keep them.
Unless your power gaming to win using models you like is more important than the perfect crew make up. As you play the game you'll notice it isn't 40K or WFB where a "cookie cutter" list wins all. Each strategy you play and scheme you choose as well as opponent & terrain will effects which models work better for your crew that game. The models you have are a good choice for balance.Last edited by durek; 07-19-2012 at 12:03 PM.

Quoting this for emphasis. What you have will allow you to build a crew for a variety of situations- adding any of the additional models we've suggested will only give you more tools in the toolbox, as it were.
All-comers lists don't exist in Malifaux, though after a while you will likely have a favorite group of models that form the core of your crew. For example, the odds are very good you'll want to take the Lost Love every time with Kirai, and you'll probably field at least one Sorrow in your Pandora crew unless you're doing an unconventional build with her.Official Scribe of the Unofficial Malifaux Find a Game/Opponent Listing.
