Slender - free downloadable horror game

Simple opening credits. Game automatically starts. First person. Night. I'm alone in the woods with nothing but a flashlight. I can zoom in and sprint.

Other than that I walk slowly and loudly with the sound of leaves underfoot. The only other sound is insects and birds.

I'm told to find 8 pieces of paper. I don't know why.

After awhile of wandering I come upon a building. It has a series of corridors, all bare and white except for a chair here and there. I scout it out, checking the several exits but rather than leave I go round again because I'm sure one of the pieces is there.

I turn a corner and see a chair knocked over.

Strange. I don't remember that. I go into a room and see nothing. I turn back and go back towards one of the exits.

A sudden noise makes me just about $hit myself and a ringing noise rises as the screen turns to static. I'm dead.

The last image I see is what apparently killed me before the game turns off.

This was my experience of Slender. For a free game, its ability to scare the $hit out of you is priceless.

It is an interesting wandering around aimlessly in the wood simulator... I did manage to actually see the thing that killed me before I died... It just stood there looking at me while I backed away.... then I died.

I thought this looked pretty good but when I tried to download it the other day the servers were getting hammered and I had no luck.

I was a little confused how my (quite good) computer struggled to handle it at quite low graphics, since its important with a game like this that there's no lag. But it's simple and effective. As much I don't like horror films, horror games are great fun =]
