Hey all from Richmond Va
Hey
i have been playing miniture games for years but mostly larger scale games. Im a new player to this game. I love the idea behind this game and would love to get in on some of the fun. I'm looking into getting some guild stuff and already have a Necrodoum (sp) crew painted up. Is there any one here from the Richmond Va area that could run me through a few demos to help me get my feet wet?

I don't know about Richmond but we have a pretty good henchman and play group up at Victory Comics if you can make it as far north as Falls Church. Look for Nayte's posts; I think he runs demos on Tuesdays, and Thursdays is our main Malifaux day where he or I would be happy to help you get started!
It is Chaos Black. You are likely to be eaten by a sprue.

Thanks. Unforchanetly that is about a 2 hr drive on 95 on a week night which usually turns into a 3 hr drive every time I try it. Once I get started though, I may join you all of a turnament if/when you run one. I appreate the offer. What would you suggest for a good starting res and guild crews?

Howdy from Northern VA (Ashburn vs Falls Church).
I believe there is a small community in the Richmond/Midlothian area, at A-Game hobbies. Also, keep an eye on the event forums or check out the Ordo Nova boards (http://odronova.coda.net) for events up here. It is a 2 hour drive, but on the weekends its not too bad. I know both Nayte and I run events on a revolving schedule about every 6 weeks. These are pretty much always on weekends.
As a note, we have 2 events coming up, which are both ideal for new players. Here are the links:
Achievement tournament - July 28 - Falls Church VA
Achievement Day & Dead Heat Campaign - August 25 - Ashburn VA
Hope that helps out!Author: Dead Tau Project (Now mostly Malifaux) / Host: Gamers Lounge Podcast

As Alex and Nix have said, we have two solid groups up here in Northern VA.
I encourage you to come up and play in the upcoming tournaments, both of which are new player friendly(Nix posted both of them)
I have no problem setting up a time at my store so we can get your up to speed with your crew. I'm a college student, and most weekdays I'm free. I can probably set something up with you on a Sunday if weekends are easier for you.
I have all of the Ressurectionists and all of the Guild. If there is a crew you'd like to test, I have no problem bringing them out for you.
If I had to suggest a master to learn the game with, it'd be Seamus. He's one of the hardest masters to kill(plenty of forgiveness to those 'uh oh' moments), has a ranged weapon(teaches you about cover, focused shots, etc), has terrifying, and is fast. His crew(Rotten belles, crooked men, sybelle, etc...) is well rounded. He does have problems fighting constructs and units immune to his terrifying though.
Feel free to drop me a PM and I can set up a time to demo for you.
