Punk Zombies and Slow to Die

When a Punk Zombie dies, and its slow to die ability kicks in, can it use self-mutilate to inflict wounds to itself (even though it's already suffered its maximum amount) to try and wound an enemy model? In other words, once the Punk Zombie has reached its maximum wounds, can it inflict more wounds on itself to damage an enemy model?

I believe you cannot take yourself below 0 wounds.

I am sure this has come up before, as you are dead and on zero wounds you cant use that. It says on the card 'Target model suffers 1 Wd per wound inflicted on this model.' so as you dont have any wounds to play with you cant do it.

IIRC It's been ruled that when you lose all your wounds and take a slow to die action, you are on 0 wounds so CANNOT use self mutilate.

However, if your zombie is hit by and instant-kill effect, like headshot, and has wounds left, you can use self mutilate as your slow to die action.
