Wandering Dragon opens Sat June 30th in Plainfield, IL
Not sure yet what they have to offer but if they don't carry Malifaux they sure will after we pester them enough. Wasn't sure where to stuff this so figured this was as good a place as any. I'm planning on checking it out Saturday and will have my crew in tow in case anyone else is up for a game.
This of course depends entirely if they have the space to accomodate but figured I would spread the word on the opening of a new game store regardless.
Check em out here:

I will be heading there Saturday after my daughter's lacrosse game to check it out likely around 2:00pm. I could throw a T-clip town board I have broken down recently in the car to have some quick terrain at hand providing they have the space that is.
I know Gruesome has already been in contact with them via email about carrying Malifaux (it wasn't on their radar yet when he contacted them but I think I recall him saying they seemed open to considering it) and potentially setting up a weekly event or holding some tournaments at the location. If they don't have the space for a tournament or weekly event I think there is an Irish Pub next door or very close down the street or something that has a decent sized event room. That fact just makes the possibility of holding/running events at the store or at the pub itself seem much more appealing for some reason.
Its less than 10 minutes from my house so I am hoping they do have the space and desire to set something up.
Hopefully see you, and a bunch more Malifaux-ians, Malifaux-ites, Mali-mo-faux-ians, peeps, addicts, whatever, up there this Saturday.
Later for now.

Nice, that'll definitely make some folks very happy. If something goes on, somebody drop me a line and I'll see if it's feasible for us to come down.

An event at a Pub? What are we a bunch of Brits? If not can we be, because seriously casual drinking makes Malifaux better

My dream is to open a Game store with a bar built in but I just don't think it would fly in the states. 99% of game stores rely on CCG sales to keep the lights on. Thus you need to let minors in the store to buy, thus getting a liquor license is nearly impossible.

But woohoo another Game store in the greater Chi-town area.
I'll have to swing by and take a look.

I've been in the center of a gaming store void since my move to Bolingbrook and a store 10 mins from my house is a welcome sight. Having a couple bars just across the street don't hurt either!

Hopefully there is room for us to gather regularly and show enough support for the game to have him start carrying an inventory.
And just as hopeful that the pub next door is as cool under the new owners as it was under the prior.
I think therefore I... BRAINS!

Ayup, I agree wholeheartedly. The evening events from Adepticon this year certainly support your theory.
Don't get me wrong they were great fun all on their own but adding a splash of refreshment helped to raise them up to a whole new level this year, for me at least.
There can be no harm in making an awesome social game even more social, can there?
Mmmmm, pub food, drinks and Malifaux....damn, now I am hungry, dying for a drink, and thinking about Malifaux instead of concentrating on work...ack!
@ Vidiot: Yeah the SW burbs can really use a good LGS. Fingers crossed.

I think my son and I may head out there with Tekdekay around 2PM, although this weekend is the NHRA Nationals in Joliet and we have always wanted to see a live Drag race with real funny cars, so we have to figure out when we are going to that too.
I think therefore I... BRAINS!
