My new Terraclips board
I then spent a LOT of time this week trying to reboot Malifaux at our house. I spent time cleaning the computer / gaming room and making room for another 3x3 Malifaux / Terraclips setup. I wanted to make the board different and more intriguing this time, and added a second street level with supports, and a 3 story house with basement access from the ground level. I thought it was a cool idea, and it turned out very well:
The base level, with the framework of the board.
Second story, loads of balconies!

I originally built my board with 1 of each Streets and Buildings. After getting a second Buildings set I expanded and made more complex buildings (which is what you see now). So 2 Buildings and 1 Streets.

I recently picked up a box of streets and a set of clips. I was trying to figure out what the best "starter" would be.
In your experience, would you say a nice board can be built with 2x streets, 1x buildings, and 3x sets of clips? Or should I look in to adding on to that asap?

I would say that would work, but there won't be enough Buildings to "fill" the board. You'll need some extra bits for smaller terrain... like barrels, crates, walls, lone trees, etc. I would prefer 1 Streets, 2 Buildings... but it is not 100% necessary.

As long as you use the Streets sets to build the ground floors of your buildings you should be able to spread a single buildings set around the board for the second floors.
Definately agree with Rhelion, adding some other "filler" terrain such as rubble piles, barrels, carts, shrubbery, short walls (Ht 1 stone work or brick), fountains, crates and trees. These will really elevate the table from nice to realistic.President of the Louisana Chapter of the Gremlin Anti-Defamation League
