Kaeris vs Von Schill help

Hey all,

I'm newer to Malifaux and recently got my buddy playing. I've picked up Kaeris and he got Von Schill. We played via Skype last night at 25SS. I'm running into a few issues with the friekorps armor and getting through it. The gunsmiths ignore armor rounds have been helpful, but am I correct in my understanding that leadstorm and Kaeris' Accelerant will not affect them since they can ignore damage from pulse, blasts and auras?

It's really put a damper on my crew and I think I'm going to have to drop the fire Gamin and switch to a Ramos lead crew and Maybe even reconsider having Kaeris in the crew at all

If someone in freikorps armour is hit by an effect that does 3(blast) damage, they take the initial hit (so in this case, 2 wounds due to armour +1), the blast is generated and placed on the board - but any models it touches that are wearing freikorps armour ignore the damage the blast would do.

Pulses will have no effect.

Kaeris' immolate should work fine, as will the fire gamin attacks, and the damage they deliver when you hit them - but yes, their effectiveness is much reduced.

Don't overly worry about losing leadstorm - it's very circumstantial anyway.

johan is also a good option. His melee attack has a 3inch range, and it ignores armor and has brutal.

But ive found in general (i play alot of kaeris vs von schill) gunsmiths are where its at. Have kaeris deal a wound to each of them and now youre getting +3 flips on attack. Ive gunned down von schill so many times its not even funny. against the big man himselves, ive gone with explosive ammo over armor piercing. 4 total cards to attempt to get the book for his trigger to change the damage to 2/4/6 and then you're likely getting atleast a straight flip because of the +damage flip vs living so you can cheat in a severe is nice. If you got bollocks in your hand, armor piercing shot is still great though.
