IL - Schaumburg - Malifaux at the Gaming Goat

Time to make my debut as the latest Chicagoland Henchman. A small game store, The Gaming Goat, has just expanded to the Schaumburg area. They're located at 1115 N Salem Drive. For those who know the area, this is one street west of the Higgins/Golf intersection.

The Gaming Goat has been primarily a CCG focused game store, but with the new store having a ton more space than the original Elgin location, the owner has agreed to let me begin running events at the store.

Officially, I will be running open play and demos every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (the first day being June 26th) but this Sunday the 17th I will be on site from 12pm until 6pm. If you're in the area and done with your Father's Day activities, why not stop on by and say hi and get a game in?

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th, I'll be at the Gaming Goat for the first of my regularly scheduled events. If you're up for a game, I'd love to get some sessions in towards the Dead Heat campaign. And it's be nice to see everyone again, I've been so busy this summer that getting out for games has been difficult.

i've been searching for a local henchman, games plus is just too far from me (west of aurora)
I hope to make it up there on a tuesday, but not sure when it will fit in my schedule.

Any plans to run any weekend events?

Sure am. Tonight was a great night, had five of us out until after 10pm. I'm looking at my schedule to see what works well (I may be shifting to 1st and 3rd Tuesday, for example, so I can work with my wife's schedule better) and we've been talking about a weekend Paint Your Crew (plus the usual open play) going forward as a way to paint together in advance of GenCon.

At least one of the folks tonight also mentioned interest in playing at the other Gaming Goat in Elgin right off of Route 20 and Randall Road. I'd be happy to do that based on folk's interest and availability.

Finally, sometime shortly after GenCon I'll be hosting a tournament with delicious prizes obtained at GenCon. ;)

Awesome. Schaumburg is a bit closer to Joliet than Mt Prospect is. I should hopefully find time to go up there. Wedding plans always get in the way...

Was a lot of fun at the Goat last night. I actually got two games in(can't remember the last time I got to do that in an open game night)

Its a nice big venue and I look forward to seeing what Chris does there.

Bumping my own thread, Tuesdays at the Gaming Goat are still going on. I'll be out there at 5pm tomorrow with at least one demo already planned if my email tells me correctly, but I'd love to see more folks come on out.

After observing the trends over the past couple weeks, we will be moving Malifaux nights at the Gaming Goat to Wednesdays. (Sorry, Gruesome!) Last night we had nine people show up, although two got absorbed into other games as Wednesdays is also the Board Game night for Schaumburg along with some Magic: the Gathering event. (It's a fairly large store, so there's been room for everybody no problem.)

So, while Malifaux still does occasionally occur on Tuesdays, the main night for us looks to be Wednesdays going forward. I believe Jeff will be changing the Meetup event to reflect this.

    Not a problem!

Last night pretty much taught me that Wandering Dragon is too busy Wednesday nights, so I think that Thursdays are staying there despite not being great for me personally.

What *IS* good for me is Wednesday nights, so you getting things going at Gaming Goat on Wednesdays sounds like the occasional EXTRA night of playing for me.
    I think therefore I... BRAINS!

    +1

It'd be nice to see ya outside of AdeptiCon! heh. I have class on Thursdays through the end of October. After that, if I don't have another Thursday class next semester I'll try to stop on by, if I don't pick a Saturday to wander down.
