Companion Question...what if a new companion shows up?
If a model with companion X is summoned during X's turn, can the summoned model take part in the companion chain?
e.g. If Ramos summons an electrical creation, can it go immediately after him before the opponent activates?
e.g. 2 - Abuela Ortega uses shotgun wedding to grant a model family and companion family. Can it immediately activate after her because it received companion during her activation?

Nope, because you declare all the models that are companioning and their activation order before you start processing their activations, so once the first model has started performing actions it is too late to join the party.

What if I want to activate say Perdita, her totem and another Ortega together. Can I start by saying the totem companions with Perdita and the totem goes first. When the totem has run his activation and it's Perdita's turn, I say that she companions ex. Nino and that Nino goes before her, and then Perdita goes last.
Or do I declare and build up the entire companion-chain at the start, and say the Totem, Perdita and Nino all companion and the order is Totem -> Nino -> Perdita?

You must announce the entire chain before any of the models start their activations.

Before activating anyone, name all the models that will be activating as a result of the chain or linked chains.
Then activate those nominated models in any order/sequence you want.

Yes, once you've identified who is in the chain you can pick which order they activate in.

At the start of the companion chain is when you measure to see who is within range. You can mix and match companions, as long as they are within range of a suitable model(if the totem is within 6 of perdita, and perdita is within 6 of nino, that is fine. if only the totem is within range of nino then they cant as the totem doesn't have companion family).
Once you have measured, you declare who is companioning, and then the order. then you start moving them.Currently own:Perdita, Dreamer/LCB, Zoriada, Collodi and Seamus. mostly playing Collodi
Bit of a noob to Malifaux but I love it!
