Thread: Ophelia vs Rasputina

The defense is not very great for Raspy crews in general. I find that Ophelia & kin + bayou gremlins can often just gun them down. Gremlins can dish out a ton of damage and the only real issues they have is low/medium CB and the amount of self-inflicted damage they do.
Against low-df crews I find that I generally dish out more damage than they can often deal with.

Rasputina has some good ways to shut a lot of the gremlin shenanigans down, LOS blocking terrain Generation, access to
immunities, and of course a larger pool of specialized models to choose from (the Gunsmith is a pretty good gremlin gunline deterent).

This is all true, but you can often outrange a number of her models and rather easily outnumber her. I find that the
immunities do not really hurt Ophelia's crew much. It just means you get a lot less use from Pere, and against Rasputina I would probably just leave him behind. Other than that the only things that bear armor will stop is Raphael's "Hooeey!" ability and the Bayou Gremlin "Watch this!" explosion. Beyond that they just have armor versus shooting. But with good use of Dumb Luck you can tend to blow through armor.
The LOS blocking terrain can be dealt with somewhat by simply outnumbering her crew. She cannot drop enough pillars to block LOS to everything - just to the important things. Between Rami and the standard Bayou Gremlins you should tend to outrange many enemy models and pepper exposed models with shots. Rami can often gun down at least one important target before the enemy takes him out (Gunsmith is a good one).
It is not a fool-proof strategy, but I find that Ophelia does rather well against Rasputina.

Rasputina is another of my go to masters (after of course my Gremlins and Seamus). I have never really had a problem shutting down the gremlin antics with her.
Dumb Luck is great but is also limited to only 25% of the deck, and of those
cards you do still have to win the opposed duel (and of course injures your model as well).
Ice Pillars (while great) aren't the only way to shut down LOS, there will be other terrain on the table plus large/ medium base models that block LOS as well. Add in Snow Storm's Middle of the Storm ability and the gremlins are on the bad end of a
flip at range.
Outnumbering and spreading out is a potential strategy but Gremlins that do this (especially the generic Bayou Gremlins) dont survive long (since most things that really increase their potentcy in an Ophelia list are bound to small range :Aura or
) and Ophelia doesn't have any way to replace losses without Some'r.
While gremlins are very good (and Ophelia especially with the Gunline) they do have a lot of easily exploitable weakness that can shut them down cold.President of the Louisana Chapter of the Gremlin Anti-Defamation League
