Help with a new strategy type
Hi,
In the spirit of something posted elsewhere, I would like to see if others can help flesh out a new strategy.
Its a shared strategy.
Inspired by a Halo gametype whose name I do not remember anymore, its basically multi-king-of-the-hill but with a twist where the points accrued at the "hills" increase in value as the game progresses rather than being constant.
I do not have a story/fluff rationalization yet, but I expect it can revolve around soulstones or some other resource that happens to be located at several locations and that start at a trickle and increase to a torrent spewing out of the ground... I expect someone else can think of something much cooler.
The basic premise is that 3 objective markers are placed on the table. Crews that have a majority of significant models within 3 inches of the objective accrue an ever-increasing number of points for "control" of that objective that are tallied and added to the crew's total at the end of each turn. The point values accrued actually increase as the game goes on. Most total points at the end of the game wins 2 VP. Then +1 VP for each objective controlled beyond 1.
My intentions for the increasing points accrued are that really fast crews can likely get there fast and begin accruing first, but that slower and perhaps harder-hitting models can get there eventually and wreck some face and compensate for their tardy arrival by controlling the objective later game.
I think for balance purposes that the rate of increasing the values can be adjusted until a sweet spot is found.
Anyway, thats the basic idea and I am not married to any particular aspect of it if someone thinks of something cooler. My only real goal here to hopefully create a strategy that different sorts of crews have roughly equal ability to accomplish but via different approaches.Last edited by Gruesome; 06-09-2012 at 09:20 AM.
