Nephilim grow list with spawn mother

What are your thoughts on the potential of using a Spawn Mother in a grow list? I think the Spawn Mother could work really well by creating a pond and using the blood counters from the Gupps to grow while their corpse counters can be put back into the pool for more Gupps at the end of the turn. It can all be done from the deployment zone and basically provide a renewable source of models to kill for blood.

    The list could look something like this;

    Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap

Lilith, Mother of Monsters -- 5 Pool

    Black Blood Shaman [6ss]
    Gupps [0ss]
    Gupps [3ss]
    Silurid [5ss]
    Spawn Mother [8ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]
    Young Nephilim [6ss]

I rather like the idea. Have you tried it out yet?

No, I haven't tried it yet, but I have a game on the weekend. I think I'll give it a go depending on strategy/schemes.

I'm confused as to what schemes this list would have a go at, maybe claim jump?

So I played a game using this core idea for a list and it went pretty well. I played against a resser crew (Seamus) and we had shared Plant Evidence, I took announced bodyguard and announced grudge (flesh construct)

    I had;
    Lillith
    Primordial Magic
    Young Neph
    2x Terror Tots
    Spawn Mother
    2x Gupps
    Black Blood Shaman
    Insidious Madness

The madness floated around out of site and planted the evidence throughout the game. The gupps/spawn mother did what I intended, but the game was short so I didn't really get to see if the grow chain could really work. However, in the first turn I matured a young and grew a tot, in the second turn grew the other tot. By then I had a spawning pool and the Gupps were coming back. I kept killing off the Gupps to give the BBS blood tokens. It all worked out pretty smooth and Lillith/mature just kicked ass.

I think this growth method is really heavily reliant on high masks and won't always work out. I don't think the list is very reliable, but it did work nicely on this occasion. Having the pool and a forest helped me control the opponents movement and stop him from plating evidence in my half as I had a really easily defended location.

Had to call the game due to time, but I had 2 evidence markers, he had one. I had both my schemes and he had neither.

Wow, this is an awesome idea! I've been wondering what to do with Gupps. "Feed them to Nephilim" is an interesting answer.

To really take advantage of the endless growth, wouldn't you want more Terror Tots instead of Young Nephilim? And maybe throw in a Silurid to do some early-game objective-grabbing while you're growing?

    Maybe something like this:

    Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap

Lilith, Mother of Monsters -- 5 Pool

    Black Blood Shaman [6ss]
    Spawn Mother [8ss]
    Gupps [0ss]
    Gupps [3ss]
    Silurid [5ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]
    Terror Tot Nephilim [3ss]

That way, you could wind up with 4 Matures eventually, which is a pretty brutal proposition.

Yeah, that could definitely work! I am restricted by amount of models at the moment. I've only got 1 mature, 2 young and 3 tots. Also have to watch the rare 2 limit, but you could mature 2 and leave the other 2 at young ready to go. I think going this direction you would need to be more defensive and hide in the DZ, you have no hitting power until you grow, so advancing would be out of the question in my opinion.

I really liked the ability to have a forest and a swamp with stuff that can move through them. It gives you some really good control.

Apart from the fact you can only ever have 2 mature at a time due to rare 2..... I would agree.

Only downfall being the suits required to grow tots, I would recommend at least one young, in case you don't start off with any masks in hand.

Because the Gupps are on a 40mm base they provide 2 corpse counters when they die. So you get to kill the gupps for 1 blood and 2 corpse counters (plus 1 blood if a black blood shamen is around). They can be resummoned by the spawning pool meaning you have lost only time to gain blood counters.

My concern is you are looking at 29 soulstone of models to get you to 32 soulstone worth of models in about 2 complete turns.
Its good for the long game, but if you don't get to the long game, its of no use.
