Never played a game of malifaux, Looking for other players in the Lafayette, IN area

Hey! so I didn't know exactly were to post this so I will do it here.

I got into Malifaux at Gencon last year. I had never played a miniature game before, but the affordability and the horror themed models broke my will power to stay away from miniature games so I jumped in. I didn't however get the chance to partake in a demo in addition I never really got involved in my area's gaming community since a lot of the friends I made over the years are not gamers (story of my life), but from what I gathered my occasional visits to the stores is that there isn't a community for malifaux among them.

So to this day I have never played a game of malifaux; I do however have a bit of a collection of models now and i've read the rules manual but i'm better learning from seeing than reading. I hope to get some games in before gencon so I don't have to spend so much time there learning it. If anyone could help a malifaux deprived soul I would appreciate it greatly

The best help I can be is to tell you that there's a Malifaux community in Fort Wayne. That's two hours away... but we do have some organized play where you could show up for a day and play multiple games, which might justify the travel time a little more.

Are you looking to play against an experienced player to learn the rules, or advice on how to grow the player base in your area? If you want a game there is a pretty good group forming in the Champaign, Illinois area. There may be some people closer to you in your state, just letting you know about us however.

Just looking for games, I would like to have a feel for the game if I were to attempt to grow a community. I do have a friend that lives in fort wayne so I could probably make my way up there so long as the organized play is friendly toward someone who hasn't got a game in.

I'm in the Indianapolis area and I've only ever had a chance to watch a one game played but I have models enough for a 35ss crew. Would def. be interested in learning as well!
