TerraClips or square spaces
Just curious if anyone has tried PWs using the square rules (as opposed to hexagons) and, by extension, using the TerraClips boards for PWs? Does it play much different having 8 adjacent squares instead of 6?

Sorry for the delay in reply. If you are using squares via Terraclips, you may also be using elevations, rails, ramps, buildings... You could effectively be playing a completely different game. So yes, it can play different. However, you can simplify the board by making it all one level and just use the counters from the base game only. I would recommend a square board, regardless.
With a custom map with/without buildings and with levels and rails, you will have a fun experience that will take longer to complete. Going with a flat map without rails, you are going to have pretty much the same experience as hex BUT your models will be open to attack from more angles unless you put lots of impassible markers on the board.

I have used terraclips for Puppet Wars boards before (the old rules), it was great fun. We did find that you can really effect the game with the layouts. We also introduced a "house rule" in regards to stairs, namely that it took both a move and an action to climb one level (puppets are short after all). Elevations were easy as the LOS rules lend a lot of help (basically if a puppet was adjacent to the edge of an elevation then they were targetable, if they weren't then they were out of LOS and untargetable).
The biggest issue we noticed was that doors become very potent as a strong puppet could lock them down.President of the Louisana Chapter of the Gremlin Anti-Defamation League

Especially when Bad Juju (old Puppet Wars Rules) can block them with Impassable terrain.
