    Arcanist Newbie

Hi there, me and some friends are starting malifaux and the arcanists caught me eye, especially the steampunk guys and the showgirls, just looking for info for how they play and how the diff arcanist gangs play, cheer

What I have noticed is the steamfitters set doesn't come with much compared to the others, is it balanced? That executioners thing must be pretty badass, or is that why they made the additional Kaeris box set? Thanks in advance for the help

Hi there, and welcome to Malifaux!

Have you checked out the tactica at Pull My Finger yet?

If not, check it out at http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/

There you will find a plethora of information including crews and how to play them effectively as well as what to buy that is of the most use as a beginner.

My friend is getting the dreamer box, chompy bits is huge and u still get more in the started than the steamfitter... and my other friend has the lady justice set.

What would be a better start the Kaeris or the original?

kaeris box set is really good, so are the showgirls. I think kaeris will be a better starting point for you though. I would expand with probably Joss. Malifaux is fairly balanced if you know the weaknesses of the other crews that are around and how to exploit them.

enjoy yourself and be sure to read the established tactica to understand the crew. Most of all don't take the game too seriously so you can continue to play for a long time to come.

Duet is just 2 single models on one base (but you need them for both sets of bases so magnets or pins are your friend there) and if you haven't read already you will probably want a set of mechanical doves as well.

Reason is, they just start working together instead of forming something new in appearance
