Thread: Lilith and Transposition
04-25-2012, 11:43 AM #11
Transposition is more than just a tool to get yourself into position.
It can also be used for strategy denial. There is a reason I always bring out Lilith if my opponents get Treasure Hunt as a strategy. Once one of their models pick up the Treasure, you can transpose it with one of you own models. Said model is now conveniently standing over a dropped Treasure marker that can be picked up.

Ophelia has terrible resilience... But she packs a hell of a punch, especially with dumb luck or whatever else she has. Match that with a slop hauler bringing Lil down to def 4... That sucks. So I think trapping her in my units, sacrificing a tot or something to do so wouldn't be that bad... I don't think I've ever used alluring. Is that bad? Lol
I have been "Pull My Finger + Mosquito = death"ed before, though... And Som'er Teeth Jones can't really swamp gas Lil to death, thanks to her 8 def.
Alex: I'd like to try that, but not with Som'er AND Ophelia. I'm sure I could get one... But even trying for both in the midst of them seems like a mistake. XD
Is there a significant cost difference between the primordial magic and the cherub?
Also: What do you guys think about taking both twins, the primordial, and a Waldgeist or something... And maybe a tot, if there's room... I like taking one twin and summoning... But it seems to absorb my first turn or two, just trying to get Lelu out and maturing a tot to a young.Masters::| GUILD: Lady Justice, Perdita Ortega, Sonnia Criid, Lucius; NEVERBORN: Lilith, The Dreamer; OUTCASTS: The Viktorias

Ok, first things first: read your opponent's cards. Pull my finger is Rst: -, meaning that Lilith't Df doesn't matter, meaning Som'er can reliably pump 6 Dg into her if he keeps flipping 7s, with another 2 Dg from the mosquito on a 10 or more.
For the slop hauler to reduce your Df, he has to be alive. Make him un-alive or transpositioned, and your problem is solved.
Both magic and the cherub cost the same.

Point-wise, the Primordial Magic is the same as a Cherub. It is really hard to play with anything other than the Primordial when you get used to the extra card.
My goto list vs Gremlin with Lilith is the following:
I like to start with a Young because I have a horrible trend of never getting any 9+ masks in my opening hand. If you can manage to get a Mature into play turn 1, it is an excellent target to Brood Mother and transpose turn 2; especially if you know you can trigger Rip in Half.
Sticking a Mature Nephilim with Fast and Flurry (from Black Blood Shaman) on Ophelia or Som'er will have your opponent chewing through Soul Stones like candy.

We usually don't run as much as 35. We usually stick to 25-30, unfortunately. But the list looks solid. What's the activation order on that grow list? Lilith, companioned BBS, then grow them next turn? And what roll do the stitched togethers play for Lil?

Also: I'm not TOO big on grow lists... And I think I suck at setting up big plays. It's just a matter of the maturing, I guess. It just seems harsh to be rocking 10 extra ss for almost free. But I'll give it a shot.Masters::| GUILD: Lady Justice, Perdita Ortega, Sonnia Criid, Lucius; NEVERBORN: Lilith, The Dreamer; OUTCASTS: The Viktorias

The Stitched are just great all-around against Gremlins. Early on, with Creepy Fog, they are one-way LoS blockers. I say one-way because Diving Attack doesn't require LoS. Later turns, they take advantage of the Gremlin's horrible Wp4 by Gambling with them.
As for activation sequence, this part of my first turn is always the same regardless of my enemy. I'm sure this is not the most optimal way to do it, but it's worked for me so far.
Deployment is Young Nepihlim and Desperate Merc both base to base with the BBS and a Tot in melee range of the Merc.
1. Activate BBS, Defensive Stance, Blood Offering, cast Blood Magic (doing 3 wounds to Desperate Merc) and giving Fast to Young. BBS has 1 Blood Counter.
2. Activate Tot, kill Desperate, Healing Flip on BBS, Drain Blood, try to cast Grow. BBS now has 2 Blood Counters (gained one from Blood Sense) and 1 Corpse Counter (from being in base contact with Desperate when it died).
3. Activate Young, cast Mature (using Blood Counters on BBS), placing the Mature in front of the BBS while remaining in base contact. Depending on my enemy/terrain, I may then cast Carry twice to move up the BBS.
The rest of the activations will depend on what my enemy does.

The gremlins can still shoot the Stitched-together, through creepy fog, right? I'm an idiot, though... That activation sequence is what I should've been doing. Lol. Now, I plan on taking Avatar Lilith... Is it prudent to manifest and use the forests to block LOS and take huge advantage of Diving Charge? That's about the best I can come up with, that isn't filled with Waldegeists. The stitched actually sound perfect. I never thought of 'em. I've just been using them with Chompy.Masters::| GUILD: Lady Justice, Perdita Ortega, Sonnia Criid, Lucius; NEVERBORN: Lilith, The Dreamer; OUTCASTS: The Viktorias

Is that a 4" diameter or radius? Thank you, by the way.
