First try at resurrectionists, list check

Hey, about to try my second crew (Ophelia was my first) and am going with McMourning:

    Ressurectionists Crew - 30 - Scrap

Dr. Douglas McMourning -- 7 Pool
    Zombie Chihuahua [1ss]

    Bęte Noire [9ss]
    Canine Remains [2ss]
    Canine Remains [2ss]
    Nurse [5ss]
    Rotten Belles [4ss]
    Sebastian, Morgue Assistant [6ss]

Just wanted to see what people thought. I guess if I was in a 35 pt game I would add a second Belle and a third Canine Remains with 6 soul stones. Thanks

Hi, I've run similar lists. A few notes--

If you have them and haven't used up your allowance of mercs, Desperate mercs are well beyond the utility of Canine remains, in at least most circumstances, especially when (I assume) your other one is going to be used for parts fodder.

Sebastian is very tough/powerful for his cost, but makes up for it by being slow. Just a heads-up-- he'll almost always be a reactionary piece.

otherwise, it's not too similar to my play style, but has no glaring flaws (not that my lists are flawless, just saying the above were things worth noting).

Looks like a pretty good list, depending on strategies and schemes. I would replace the belle with a punk zombie, but that is me. Also, don't expect alot out of the nurse, but they are fun models.

A punk without a belle will be lucky to ever hit anything in the game, depending on who your opponent is. He's not that tough to kill from a distance, and he's a little to slow to ever get more than one swing before he goes down. In my experience anyway.

I'd also advise this, if you are bringing a nurse firstly make certain you bring your master's avatar, as she can help manifest quickly if that is a goal, and bring something to else effective to use her with. Dog Missiles are fun, but not very effective. Desperate Mercs, if you get a point of dmg on them first, are amazing killers on nurse drugs. McTavish and Sue become very good ranged and utility pieces and then shrug off the negatives, so one of them might be worth including, but if you don't bring any of that I'd drop the nurse.

Especially with Sebastian, that would mean you have 2 heavy hitters that are mostly reactionary/short-ranged pieces, with no threat to force your opponent to bring them closer, nor a belle to move the models for him.

I assume the general thing to do is kill of the totem and a canine to bring out the rogue necromancy and have 4 big melee hitters to threaten with. I imagine the nurse is used to get a canine up in their face and bring out Bete and the belle is to suck important models closer? Depending on the scenario I have a couple night terrors as well for objective grabbing (replace sebastian).

Guess that is true, if they are shooty or have a strategy that includes a moving objective. My gaming group is just really different because the Malifaux we play, my Resurrectionist are no where near as bad as the forums make them look.

I agree, while I've only played Ressurectionists, I've never felt like my pieces are bad. In the above case, I just always like to have at least one fast or ranged element that will put pressure on my opponent, so a slower list can still work well with it.
