Yea only 3 games in you really shouldn't be discouraged by any master you've tried. It takes many games (at least 10) to get used to a Master's tricks and be able to use them at even half their potential. Add that to inexperience facing *against* other masters and you've got a few more losses before you'll be able to win consistently.

I'm not sure that multiple Drowned are the best choice for a starting crew - they don't drop corpse counters as they're spirits, so you're handicapping your BP count. I'd go with one belle and a couple more dogs.

Ok. so since I like the concept of McPsycho and I also like undead I'll go with him and see how things pan out.

So for a 25pt crew would this be good:

    McMourning
    1x Zombie Chihuahua
    3x Canine Remains
    2x Rotten Belles
    1x Bete Noire

    7 SS cache

    1) Should I take a Grave Spirit instead of the Chihauhau for a bit more survivability?

    2) Rotten belles I thought so I can push models into melee or try to generally control movement. They can be "works in progress" of the Doctor...

    3) I was thinking that the canine remains give me body parts for summoning a flesh construct or even a rogue necromancy. I can always get more canine remains later if needed.

    4) Bete Noire - lots of things will die hopefully and she will help with the body count. I could always swap her out for another beat stick..

    OR...

    Is this better?

    McMourning
    1x Grave Spirit
2x Desperate Mercenary (victims/donors that just don't know it yet....)
    3x Canine Remains
    2x Rotten Belles
    1x Nurse

Again, depends on for which strategy. If you are looking for a general, all comers list at 25 stones I'd go with something like this:

    Ressurectionists Crew - 25 - Scrap

Dr. Douglas McMourning -- 8 Pool
    Zombie Chihuahua [1ss]
    • Canine Remains [2ss]
    • Desperate Mercenary [2ss]
    • Desperate Mercenary [2ss]
    • Night Terror [3ss]
    • Night Terror [3ss]
    • Rotten Belles [4ss]
    • Sebastian, Morgue Assistant [6ss]
Begin by having your Canine Remains attack your Desperate Mercs, cheating to get 1 dmg on each.

Zombie Chihuahua casts Magical extension (Wracked with Pain) on the Canine Remains for +1BP on the Chihuahua. Zombie Chihuahua moves up.

McMorning casts Wracked with pain on the Canine Remains to kill it. (Gain +3 BP, 1 from wracked with pain and 2 from the CC). Scalpel Sling to the Chihuahua, and then kill it with a Melee strike (Gain +4 BP, one from the Scalpel sling, one from the strike and 2 from the CC. McMorning now has 8 BP (7 he gathered himself and 1 from the Chihuahua's spell that dropped when it died.) You are ready now to summon a Rogue Necromancy when ready. Your Merc's now have the 1 dmg needed to buff up their attacks, and you have Sebastion and McMorning as Melee Threats, Night Terrors as activation advantage and objective runners, and support from a Rotten Belle. Decent all around list I feel.

While Night Terrors don't provide bodies and have fairly low damage output, I cannot speak highly enough of them for maneuverability/claiming objectives/tying things up.

I generally like that list a lot, that's very efficient for 25 points.

I've done that list, I just tend to find I like the Desperate Mercs better as they really seem to scare people. Your suggestion is a very valid variant of the list I recommend.

So why are Desperate Mercs so scary? They don't appear to be that great...

Would you recommend using them as body parts by Turn 3 or use their sacrifice ability?

Is Sebastian not that great then?

Sebastian is slow. He is a melee model with only 5 Cb. He is however one of the only Resser models with an Action modifier. I like him for certain scenarios as he takes a little effort to kill for his cost, and as such he is very good at guarding things your opponent wants to get.

Desperate Mercs are probably one of the best 2 point models in the game. I almost always favor them over more Canine remains as they actually have to potential to kill things very well. Once they take a dmg (which you will cause them) they effectively gain paired, when they die if they are killed they can heal one of your models, and once you have an enemy in sight a last nobel sacrifice, possibly combined with a reckless fire gives you the potential of 4 paired shots at combat 5 with a double positive twist on dmg.

I find that even if the enemy does attack them, its as good as a slow or paralyze because they were fated to die in any case, and if they kill them, hey its more BP for McMorning, if they died near him.

The Convict Gunslinger is also a very solid choice as well if you don't find the mercs to be as useful as I do.

Another useful trick with the desperate mercs is a Nurse's Massive Dose. You give them reactivate and maybe stimulants, and for a turn they become killing machines.

in my opinion sebastion is a massively underated model, for 6SS his weapon is ace, he can take a disproportionate amount of punishment and if you can get him in good position and win initiative a double bloody harvest and a melee atack makes a 'sebastion bomb' quite viable, last week I took out 14SS of models in one activation (2 guardsmen and an exorcist) also as he will generate *some* BPs from melee, his (1) action 'surgeon' is very usefull, especialy for healing Mcmourning without activating him.
