    I'm awake again! Not exactly following the gist of the discussion of my entry, which perhaps indicates that it isn't working as well as it should, which is a bummer. Or perhaps some folks are taking the theme as a technical rule and basing their opinions around that, whereas I took the theme as a theme rather than a technical restriction. I and worked a story around the idea of only three colours but certainly didn't restrict myself to using just three in the overall rendering of the scene - only the parts that needed to be that way to convey the story. I used at least 12 on the $$$$$$$$$$ and balloons I reckon!

    The only three colours allowed in the story part of the world are Black, White and Red (and black and white are colours in my book, but that's a debate that will never be resolved!) so for those 'conformist' parts, I did indeed only use three colours - black, white and red.

    On the $$$$$$$$$$ and balloons however there was no restriction - to represent the anarchist fight against the oppressive resistance - hence, loads of colours.

    Does that make sense? Until now I had thought the piece itself kinda carried that across without too much explanation, but it seems to be dividing opinion.

    I've got nothing on a purple winged bunny named Rabid. Well played Paintminion, well played. I am out-cuted, but will return sweeter and more precious then you'd ever imagine!

    LOL Lono, when do you ever sleep?

    Btw, I wasn't "attacking" your entry .I was just taken aback by your entry because all your comments to others who use black & white as shade/highlight and/or other color on the other element. You set the bar so high in this contest, so my expectation was built up on your piece and made me think you'd do something spectacular using Bexley/Paintminion's approach - clever choice of colors that you can mix to cover every tint you need. So I couldn't help but tease you about it.

    Peace man! :D

    Very nice Iron Painters... VERY NICE!!!

    This theme was a tough one, but the gallery is composed of some really clever and skilled work. I'm glad the theme pushed you all and I thank the judge that suggested it. I still have no idea what I would have done for it. The judges have their cards and I'll post the results in a different thread as usual.

    Best of luck to all!! I'll be sad to see you any of you go :(

    Four ITIC entries this round!! Way to keep the Iron!

    @Lono,
    I wouldn't be worried about your entry or the colors used. I played mine safe and went literal with 3colors. Splitting hairs on a smidgen of color here and there would be rough indeed. This is my 1st IP but I can see from the entires at this state that it'd be hard to judge and anyone getting knocked out now is tough to swallow. Not using black and white when limited to an interpretation of three colors would be seriously tough painting, and folks developing an entry that creates beautiful atmosphere by way of contrast with judicious use of actual color is remarkable. This is a good theme.

    Red devil bunny, purple wag - I will admit the parrot isn't as cute. As for the future, bring it on! I love all cuteness! I do think your pug is precious, and look forward to more! Keep it coming!

    Oh I didn't see it as an attack at all pewtermonkey, I appreciate any and all feedback and I'm thick skinned and realistic enough about having models online that I don't get precious or uptight about it. I'm always happy to have a bit of dialogue and discussion.

    I wouldn't say you played yours safe Magno or indeed that I was particularly daring, we just interpreted the theme from our own personal story telling perspectives and our entries each represent that. I agree that the knockouts are going to get brutal now because whoever it is misses out on round 4 from the match ups would have been just as capable of creating a quality entry as those who go through. I hope I get through, but if I don't I will look forward to what you create next for sure.

    Course, I'm on holiday for a week from 25th April, so if I do get through that will make things... interesting!

    Okay finally finished comments on all the entries, ITIC is next. I do want to say that it has been a pleasure going through these entries - the variety and takes on our beloved MC's words for Round Three is fantastic to see! I cannot believe I struggled so hard with what to do and I look at all the entries and wonder what was wrong with me? These are great! Well done all, and I wish we could all go to Round 4 just to see what everyone will do! I hope the ITIC Gallery will continue to show some of the additional efforts!
