IP8 Round 3

Please read entirely and check this post for updates.
Congrats on advancing to the next step. This round we have a guest judge! A man who needs no introduction but gets one anyway: Wyrd studio painter and sculptor, lizard lover, and Iron Painter 7 winner, Commander Y!
Your judges this round are:1) Nathan Caroland: Frustrated father and Mr. Wyrd
2) Eric Johns: Master painter and Mr. Malifaux
3) Keltheos: Malifaux writer and bayou bandit
4) Supervike: International thong model and OG IP MC & Creator
5) Commander Y: Iron Painter 7 non-defending champion
Judging for the entire contest will follow these guidelines:
Use of THEME INGREDIENT..... 0-5 points
Technical Quality/difficulty........0-5 points
Overall Asthetic.......................0-10 points
This round you'll be in pairs and the best one score advances. Please note, I will not shift anyone this round for DNF. If you scare your opponent so bad they don't enter, you advance if you complete the round. Smack away!
You have until 11:59pm PST, Monday April 16th to upload your entry. No late entries will be accepted, no exceptions. If you want multiple angles, please create a collage yourself. Better pictures or updated captions will not be allowed after the deadline.
Official rules can be read HERE.
Upload photos in the IP8 round 3 gallery.

I just had this feeling I'd be matched to Wren - ack! - Wren, I'm definitely not DNF'ing, but should I do two entries so I can mess with you?
And I've got several ideas already. This really opens up the miniature choices!!! although there are some that would be absolutely hil-air-eee-ussss!
Sounds like we're all going to be doing some really monochrome pieces, eh?

3 colors of what? Triad of midtone, shade and highlight? Or three primary colors with each own set of midtone, shade and highlight?
Whyspyr, your Cthulhu will work best for this theme. :-)

bahahahaha Sigh... being matched against my own fiance is kind of cruel and unusual punishment since only one of us can make it through!
Sorry honey...

Hm. My all-time highest score was with an entry that only featured two colors. I likes them odds.

Ooooh... y'all need a doghouse in one of your pieces, eh?
Anyone else notice that we don't have a match-up header saying "Random"

Figured someone would be pointing this out - I suppose it's best that that person is you!

Hm. I'm not sure if being "King of Story" helps or hinders. There's really no theme-related story to tell, but then, that leaves me free to come up with my own to tell, which might be even better.
Number two- to go sepia (or sepia-esque, replacing the brown with another color) or try a cyan/magenta/yellow combo and paint a full-color piece? Hm. This is either the awesomest theme ever, or I am about to start a blood-feud with Peterdita which will have our children's children's children duelling in back alleys...
---------- Post added at 11:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:09 PM ----------
IMPORTANT QUESTION:
Does primer count as a color? As in, using varying degrees of transparency over primer? In which case, cyan/magenta/yellow wouldn't work, as it would require white primer to show through to achieve light/dark contrast.
I think my kids are coming after Peterdita's...

I suppose we should all just be grateful that the three colors themselves weren't randomly assigned. Though, that might make for an interesting contest somewhere down the line...
"Aw, crap. Nightshade Purple, Bilious Green, and Solar Macharius Orange? Are you f'ing KIDDING me!?"
