A very good review of the new range. It saved me some cash as I had originally planned to buy some of the dry and texture paints just to check them out.

I just picked up a retailer breaking the rules and selling some left over GW paints on Ebay so I snapped them up. They just happened to have almost every colour I needed to get new pots of

I am fond of the new paints, but I still like the old ones and much prefer Skull White to the current gloop monster.

So here is my question.
why are there three blacks?
There is a primer Black, a black foundation and a black highlight.
Okay this confuses me. I can maybe understand a primer and a normal black....but highlight black. Isn't it just black. Seems odd to me.

Primer Black works best as a hand painted primer. Black Foundation is much like Chaos Black, no idea about the Highlight Black though since I've not seen it being used, sorry.
But 3 blacks was a bit odd to me too, but not as much as the 12 greens in the Layers range! lol.

I've used two texture paints, armageddon dust and Lustrian undergrowth.
Their both really good basing paints

And with my 2 greens plus a few other paints to mix in I can make any shade of green I want. Then again I do have about 40 pots filled with various mixes of green (including other colours with a hint of green like blues, greys, etc.) that I have mixed up myself, I just don't see the need to 12 shades of green for people to start with.
