Base is assembled and painted. It was easier and faster than I thought. Now painting the main character...

I have 3 rats and although they have a cage, it's never closed, so they often roam. They have a habit of fussing around my feet unexpectedly the moment I start to do any sort of fine-detail painting. They have messed up several perfectly nice looking eyes and freehand designs in their time. Impossible to be mad with them though.

I'm trying to search out the models for my IP entry right now and if I find them and get any work done I'll stick the first part of my WIP up on my blog I reckon. I have a commission job to finish off first though.

when did searching for excuses substituted smack talking in IP? This round 2 is all about business trips, commissions, cats, lack of time and so on, so forth...
BTW, I finished the first element of my entry today - dragon's head.

I figured it was all just social engineering. Back in the day, when I competed in another medium, one of my frequent opponents quite often talked about how little time they had had, that their finished piece was going to suck, blah blah blah... when the truth was that they had spent every waking moment perfecting it....
So don't fall for the ones that are claiming little time spent! It's reverse psychology!

No excuses. No mercy! Just keep painting...Just keep painting...
My gal is looking fantastic. Freehand went well as I kept it simple, hair not done yet, but should be done tomorrow. Instead I added more detail that I was gonna scrap if I got behind, but what the heck, go big or go home!
My mouse needs a new tail and is not the right color brown yet. Base is coming along...I am focused and happy. You better be bringing your best, Viruk!
IMMPS Rule #1: Friends don't let friends paint drunk. ehem. Friends don't let friends paint drunk, unless they are painting plaid. er...Friends who drink with friends must paint plaid.

I think I'm just about done with converting my figures and constructing scenic bits. Need to let some putty cure, and then I can prime tomorrow and get painting! (And work on a few remaining scenic bits.) A bit less time than I'd like for painting, but I'm going to muster my Iron. :->
I'm pretty happy with my track record for using stuff I already have on this IP. Last round I got to use some pieces of Kinder Egg toys I've been carting around since college, some pieces of model kits I inherited a few years ago, and the cloves I started collecting last month. This round I've used some texture stamps I bought a while back, beads I've been collecting for years, HO railroad plants I hadn't managed to use on a finished piece yet, and some bamboo sticks from the end of a brush carrier I cut the edge off of. I did order away for some new bases in different sizes, which is more for future projects. Sometimes you need something inbetween 50x50mm and a plaque base from Joann's!

Made my piece over the weekend and it seriously worries me .... this piece of work is so far removed from my round one entry that you will all seriously think somebody else did it.
The only saving grace any of you have is that next Saturday I will have no time to do anything due to the manly pursuit of power tool racing I am attending ..... (Is that smack talk enough?
