Alps post nerf
So I generally run 35ss games with the dreamer and feel like less than 3 alps is a waste; however, I was wondering how people have been utilizing these guys post nerf. I mean at 3ss a piece and running three that's a 9ss commitment and there are other things I feel are of much better use, a teddy, another daydream and lelu, etc. Just curious how other people view and use them if at all anymore and what a typical 35ss dreamer list might look with them in it.

I never start with an alp on the field. Pre-nerf, they were monstrous. Post-nerf, they're not good. If I want to have some fun, though, I tend to grab Coppelius, melee Lelu on first turn and cheat crows in to get some eyes, then make an alp a turn for the lulz. The little bastards are going to die very quickly, but they'll waste some ennemy model's AP in doing so.

I know it's an often repeated comment, but it's such a shame they made them insignificant. They'd be okay without that - but Night Terrors all the way now.

I think it's a shame how they were nerfed to the ground; so much so, that they aren't even included in beginning lists anymore. I will submit that a better balancing option would have been to keep them the way there were and make them rare 3 instead.

I disagree, although I think the change was justified in every way, I could easily see them still being significant.

The fact that they are insignificant is just a slap in the face, but think of it this way, if alps were rare 3 that's still a 9ss commitment and there damage and dehibilitating effects are suitable of a 9ss model, think Teddy power, Coppelius, Von Schill, the riders. In addition, they are still weak enough and easily disposed.

Never used my Alps, pre and post Nerf. Didn't use them before because it sounded quite dull and haven't used them since because i don't see much use in them now. Significant would have been nice.

I think 1 Maybe 2 for dreamer guards is worth it. With the defensive abilities it has it is really hard to deal with at range. and you don't feel like you are wasting points keeping 1 back.
