Avatar Manifest and Replace

When an avatar manifests, it Replaces the master. Replace (RM pg.38) requires base contact and room for the replacing model.

Does this mean that if there is no room for the avatar in base contact, manifest can not occur? If so, what about the Automatic Manifest?

Yep, I was wondering about this the other day as well. As written, you can't Manifest if there isn't room to do so. As for the automatic version, I suppose you would either pay the Soulstone to avoid the mandatory action, or use your choice of (1) or (0) action which would then fail (wasting the AP).

Any other thoughts on this? I guess unless I am advised otherwise I'll just play it that the Avatar can't manifest if there is no place to place it base-to-base.

I am sure it won't come up that often, but it's certain to come up eventually, especially if it's a melee based master.

Hey, we're discussing this, so don't think we haven't seen the question. For now, just push the models around the Master back as equally as possible until there's room to place the avatar where the Master used to be.

It's a gentlemanly push, not something you should be trying to rulesmonger for an advantage. ;)

I agree. Keltheos, is this only in circumstances where the Avatar must manifest, or in deliberate manifestations as well?

This would be whenever you would manifest the Avatar, so any time it would Manifest but it can't because of models in the way.
