Forum: The Iron Painter!
Do you have the IRON to push through this grueling contest with tight deadlines, advanced themes and champion smack talk?!!

Iron Painter III: The Rejected Gallery
Well, it seems I failed my goal in IP3, namely to stay on until round 2! (I had, honestly, little hope about staying longer against all the superb painters around here!)
But I joined mainly because I liked the idea and format of the competition, and because this is a nice forum (even though I have only browsed anonymously earlier).
So, I thought I'd still hang on, for the fun of it, without participating. Getting a theme and having a deadline spurs me on (something I sorely need).
And everybody else who wants to join in are of course more than welcome, that'd be real fun!
So, I'll be starting my mini for round 2 - Paint it black! today, and hopefully have a WIP picture up soon!Last edited by Henrix; 03-25-2007 at 03:51 PM.

Good idea and a great spirit over the competition. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Good!
And very nice to see that someone else is joining in, Xenon_Wulf! (and someone I recognize from RPG.net and the Rackham forums, too! Hi!)
I suppose we'll lay off the smack talk, here. It hardly behoves us loosers. ;)
Personally I'm also planning on being a little more lax with the deadlines. I ended up with just two hours to base and take pictures of my entry, which was a little stressful.

Once you have sussed a good photo setup its really quick. I can photograph a mini and get it online within 10mins, just by having a preset steeing on the camera and a workflow which i just drag and drop the mini. The workflow relightens crops and shrinks the pic automatically then opens photoshop. All I need to do is stitch the photos together.

Well, here's a little something I'm working on to match the round 2 theme, seeing that those who are still in the competetion are not posting any WIPs!
I've hit a bit of a snag as the material I wanted to use didn't work out as well as I thought.
