    Malifaux Rat

    It seems like a group of rats cannot die from a blast.
    If 3 rats are together and I get a blast for my attack then the blast should kills all 3. However, when they die, they heal each other. Thus they never die.
    Maybe it should say after a rat is removed, heal vermin.
    Just doesn't make sense if they all die that they start eating each other.

    Good question.

    Rising Powers p.201 (First run).
    Devoured: When this model is killed or sacrificed it does not generate any counters; instead, all friendly Vermin within 3: heal 2 Wd.
    To me it looks like the timing of the vermin healing 2 Wd is the same as when the counter would be dropped.

    Malifaux: Rules Manual p.9 "The Basics"
    Graverobber: When a living or Undead model is killed while one or more models with the Graverobber Characteristic are in play, replace the living or Undead model with a number of Corpse Counters. . .
    I could very well be interpreting this incorrectly, but to me it looks like the three Malifaux Rats who were killed don't generate the healing effect until they would have each dropped a Corpse Counter, and by then it's too late for them to heal any wounds. Basically the Rats are killed, then you are remove the Rats from play and generate the vermin healing at the same time (which would be the same sort of timing as replacing a model with a Corpse Counter).

    I'd kinda like to see what the official explanation on this is.

    Similar questions came up before (about Saemus and his healing when a model near him is killed). Blast damage is simultaneous, so all rats die. Nothing left to heal.

    Yeah i posted some thing bout the seamus and the blast damage.. and all damage would be simultaneous. so they all DIE : (

    Yes, they would all die, but....

    If they're within range of a Rat Catcher, they all come right back as new rats. Also, any Vermin outside the blast would then be healed (i.e. any other rats or Rat Catcher's).

    IMO, don't blast rats unless they're more than 6" from a Catcher or Hamelin.
