Casual Painter looking for Feedback
Hey,
I'm usually a pretty laid back painter, but I was really excited to get Kirai's box set and paint away!
I went with pseudo studio colors on my models and did these in about five or six hours, give or take.
These were the best pics I could get once the sun went down, so the lighting is meh.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would certainly appreciate it :embarasse

your technique is tabletop solid, good colors and a good grasp of highlighting. One definite way to improve the look of your minis is to preplan the bases. I always find that its a good idea to do the base and the mini at the same time if you dont intend to just use flock ( and even if you do use flock, priming and painting the flock with the mini allows for a unified look)
One thing that you can try doing is to make a more gradual transition to your highlights and to put in a few stronger darks to really make things pop.
all in all though i think your minis look very good, especially kirai and ikyrioDITA Construct *heart*!

Would have to agree that these need some decent basing to go with the paintjobs.
The paint jobs are good (unless you are thinking of entering a painting comp with them) definately going to be great to paly with and against. The only issue I see is probably due to the camera work making them look a little washed out.President of the Louisana Chapter of the Gremlin Anti-Defamation League

They look good to me. I would recomend adding detail to the bases.

Hey again everyone!
Yeah, the colors did end up being wash out because I wsa using flash with my camera to get teh pics, and it' not very good.
As far as the bases go, I was going to use some green stuff to fill them out and have something to stick the models into.I'm not sure how else or what else to do with them

Painting is fine. As far as basing goes why not try doing the same as the models on the box - small tubes or rods of plasticard cut up to resemble bamboo walkways.
Keep it up.

I think the garden bases that were done by another member fit Kirai a bit better then the Bamboo ones.
