How many guardsmen do I need?

So, I have started painting my first two guardsmen, and that got me thinking. With cordon I can see needing at least two guardsmen in a list, but does anyone use more than two in scrap lists? If so, why kind of tactics require the use of more than two?

Lucius does. In my Lucius list I take 3-4 of them. I activate Drill Sergeant, Link, and Shooting Range [[all ranged attacks within 4" receive plus flip]] Then link him to a guild guard.

Now activate the guild guard furtherest away from the fighting and use Patrol, now activate the other 3 guild guard and send the one with the drill sergeant in first. If you can move And shoot do that, if you need to double move to get in range that's fine, he'll still get his attacks. Also make sure they're still within 8" of lucius, if not that's fine just move lucius, [[but take note you only want to make lucius use one action to do something other then recieve orders]]

Now lucius activates and starts passing out 6CB with on the attack AND damage. Or if you feel super like a super dick, instead of using the zero action to give them +2CB, you kill the drill sergeant and use the orders, then reactivate and then use the +2CB and start unloading the lead!
