So I like the convict gunslinger, but hate the model. So assuming that a second version won't be made, are there any suggestions for a suitable stand in?

Why not use a converted Santiago Ortega? He has the two pistols already, a little bit of converting to make him unique and Robert is your Father's Brother.

I actually like the model but I must confess that I wasn't too sure til I saw the model in the flesh (so to speak)

I like the model too, although he is a little larger scale than most other Mercs (and dwarfs Hamelin).

Santiago (as mentioned) or Francisco Ortega would be fine as stand-ins, or if you don't mind a model from a different company, there are a few Privateer Press models that might work (Draegyn the Bastard, Taryn di la Rovissi or Valeria Alvaro (if you want a girl), Pistol Wraith (if you want something more ethereal). Aside from that anything Steampunk, Victorian or Wild West would work (which is nearly any figure range), gawd bless the eclectic style of Malifaux .

Anima Tactics has a model. female with 2 pistols.
Problems are it is Anima Tactics and a smaller sculpture

I'm not much of a modeler, so I'm not sure I can make Santiago look different enough from the one already in my crew, but thanks for the ot`her suggestions. I like the Velaria Alvaro model

I love the model, he's awesome all painted up. Maybe a head swap with another model might be an easy conversion?

What is it about the convict gunslinger you don't like?

There are literally dozens of suitable models I could suggest, but I generally prefer to suggest similar-looking models for proxies (as it is easier for your opponents to know at a glance what the model is supposed to be), and I don't want to propose something that has the same features that you didn't like on the orginal.

You could also maybe redo a New Ronin model. I think one has a gun, just need to adjust it somehow.
Problem is they each hold the gun in left hand lol

I'm using this model from PP.


I removed the flintlocks and replaced them with stubbers (revolvers) from the necromunda weapon sprue.
I need an all female crew for my Femme Fatales Viki crew and can't live without one of the great convict gunslingers.
