Got just over a day to find my mini, prime, paint, base and photo. Had a virus that's knocked me out for the last week, too tired to even hold a brush. Just need to pop into the shed for a tin of nails to chew on so I can get this itic done

Everything is cleaned and assembled. I'll be priming tonight. (After I get back from my "interview" with my former employer.) There's no school Monday, so I have a three day weekend to paint. I'll need all of it and then some, though. I think I might have bitten off a bit more than I can chew.

It is, and maybe I will! (And I got the job, though I had little doubt. My former supervisor told me to apply, and the "interview" consisted of only one question: "So... part-time or full-time?" This makes it the third time, if you count working on the Midnight movie, that I've gotten a job there without an interview.)

Assuming I don't get laid off again before GenCon, I think I see some rye whiskey headed my way...

Yeah, I'm having water issues as well. I wanted lots of splashing water, and while I know a few ways to do it pretty convincingly, they all take at least a day if not two or three to do. And given that I also need a at least a day after everything's painted for resin water, and a day or two after that for water effects, I would have to have been done painting already in order to do it. So, it looks like instead of capturing the moment the beastie springs from the water, it'll have to be a moment or two after, allowing for all the sprays and splashes to have subsided. Not horrible, but I think freezing the action mid-spring would have made for a more dynamic scene.

Yes, you are quite right, it would have. - too bad eh? ;)*

I'm just glad that it's you lot that are doing this round and not me. (although I did have this killer idea involving only a little bit of 'wet' and some.. ,erm.. 'celebrities').

*Neph - having fun with italics*

*All joking aside, I'm quite sure you'll play a blinder this round, even without the would-have-been-awesome splashing effects.

There will still be some splashing, just not the gigantic plumes I would have liked. The more I think about it, though, I think all the splashes would have obscured most of the figure. It'd be a shame to put that much work into painting something then hide most of it.
