Hey guys I just joined the group. I've never written fan fiction before but the background of Malifaux has some cool ideas bouncing around in my head. I was wondering what methods for writing others might be using. In the past I've made a few starts and stops at fan fiction but in all honesty I never followed through to completion. I think my previous failures are a large result of the methods, or lack of, I was using. I just grabbed some paper and pen, sat down cold in front of a computer or typed some random ideas into my cell phone note pad. Recently I've looked at writing a story synopsis, story outline and other ways the "pros" write. I think that by carefully outlining my ideas, characters and story that I'll be more successful. I have the general outline for a multi-part story (hoping to be interesting enough to be novel length). I've got my protagonist and his background developed. I'm working on the plot at the moment. I'd like to hear how others are doing it.
