is she worth it in a crew led by ramos. I was thinking of something along the line of a steamborg, her and a convicted gunsliger. Total deck control over your opponent.. Wondering if the 2 extra SS is too expensive

In my experience she is very worth it with ramos. Not just for head shot but the extra card drawing, more summoning and reactivate abilities. Reactivating a spider to have it move/attack 1 more time and then blow it up can be nasty. Not to mention she can use his casting ability instead of hers for better chances.

I haven't looked into the hand control side too much yet.

Would be interesting to see her and the Steamborg using Decapitate and Headshot together.

Wait 'til your opponent has burnt a lot of cards / Soulstones and let rip with both of them.

Once they are down to 1 card any non-Master is toast.

This.

Because alyce offers draw power, and ranged threat, along with secondary scrap weenie production, and denial mechaisms, she can be a great asset to ramos. The fact that she gets 8 CA out of the deal is no joke either.

The downside is that she's a whopping 10 points. Probably very worth it at larger point games, but at and below the 35 point mark, i tend to hesitate on her with Ramos.

40 + ? Oh hell yes she's worth it.

I found the Desolation engine you can summon with her for a total of 4AP and a few decent cards is an amazing distraction that refuses to die if it hits, which with her hand size increase is fairly often.

With a scrap pile, Ramos, a Brass Arachnid, and Alyce, you can add 12-21 ss worth the models to your team in 2 turns. Sit all 3 on the scrap pile. Ramos uses 2 AP to dig up tokens and summon a spider, the Arachnid uses 1 ap to dig up a token and the other to either try to summon another spider (if you have a card in hand to do it) or dig up another token. Alyce makes 2 steampunk abominations. The spiders and aboms just sit tight and wait for friends to arrive next turn. Next turn rinse and repeat, with any spiders made forming into an awesome spider swarm and the 4 aboms making the desolation engine, then those two big models rush out to join the fray the rest of your squad is already fighting.

Alyce and the Arachnid are a total of 12ss, so even in 20ss with the right terrain and strategy, this could be lethal. In 30, bring a Steamborg to mess with people until his backup gets there, and something fast like a cerebus or a starter swarm to get any sabotages you want or just help the 'borg. I know I'm likely not the first to come up with this, but I've named this particular combo (Ramos, Alyce, Arachnid) the Rusty Ramos Scrap Factory. Only downside is you need a scrap pile in your starting area to do this well. Otherwise you lose at least a turn to moving to it. After the two turns of summoning, move the master and his apprentice out and support the two new brusiers and whatever remains of your former squad you have left.

How does the brass arachnid dig up a token?

Scrap Pile: A 3" x3" or larger area terrain piece. Models gain 1 Scrap Counter when they (1) Interact while their base is completely within the scrap pile.

That's why I put such a huge focus on being on a scrap pile. Without one, your only free scrap token each round comes from both of Ramos' AP using (2) Scavenge Under Fire. Other than that, you rely on dying constructs, which is inefficient. With it, Ramos can use (2) to get 2 scrap tokens, use casting expert on whatever he needs, and use his (0) to pump out a spider and leave a free token for Alyce. The bug gets a token for it's (1) (unless you can stoke Ramos for more) and another spider. Alyce uses any tokens leftover and digs up more if there aren't any. This makes half of your squad stuck on a single 3x3 piece of terrain, but look at the potential results and I think you'll find it's worth it.

Ahh I got you, it requires a certain piece of terrain. Very effective if that is on the table.

Can't. Summon spider is a (0) action. You could get the Arachnid to summon an electrical creation, but not more spiders.

Other than that, nasty idea.

ah, something I'd missed. thank you for that. It didn't matter much in the game I tried it in, the arachnid never got the cards to summon either piece, but I had been declaring spider.

As another note on Alyce, her Rust ability is nothing to scoff at either. It turned 'Tina's Ice Golem into a brick for the turn required to get the Desolation Engine up to it and start tearing into it.
