Ok, now that I have that out of my system, it looks like November is going to be a great month. The Resurrectionists were the faction that I expected to pick up last, but that beautiful Bette Noire model makes them much more tempting. With the crooked man and mindless zombies models releasing as well, I will be sorely pressed not to pick them up.

Agreed, Bete Noir is (IMHO) one of the prettiest of Wyrd's minis... Well done to whomever sculpted her! :D

Wait, just saw the middle of the thread. The model in the bottom left of the painted minis is a Grave Spirit and not the Crooked Man? I really thought he was the Crooked Man. He just looks like a dead miner. Here is to hoping that the Crooked man model looks as good as this guy. Otherwise, I can see a good proxy model already.

Yeah, he's the grave spirit... not quite what I imagined, but a nice model nonetheless.

I think it's the hammer. Combined with the candle on the head that is a part of the Grave Spirits fluff entry and the rocky looking bottom half of the body, he just screams Crooked Man.

I have to say, I figured out why the Desolation Enigine is not appealing to me. It looks far too much like the GW's Ogre Gorger model, which I don't like either. The pose is even almost identical.

How's it not what you imagined, our of curiosity ? It's an elderly looking spirit with a candle on its head, which is exactly how it's described as in the fiction sidebar for the grave spirit. :)

What were you expecting ? :)

Even before the book came out and the rules were in Beta, I always imagined the grave spirit as an actual "spirit," somewhat like a miniature version of The Grave Spirit described in the story "The Wendigo."

Yah, i hear ya, though in the description of the grave spirit it even says "Not to be confused with The Grave Spirit". Really wish they'd come up with different names for those. ;) I guess i just take fiction descriptions very literally. :)

Just wanted to add that i just finished reading the leveticus / alyce / ramos fiction, and man, it was fantastic. :) Probably my favorite bit in gaming fiction i've read for a good long, long while.

I agree! With both Ramos and Leveticus being so construct oriented, as well as both having clockwork body parts, I had hoped there would be some storyline stuff tying the two.

There has been talk of a Leveticus boxed set...

...I'm going to have to crash tackle newbies who pick it up first and teach them how to play before they get frustrated :)

Only one I've lost was to Somer's crew, he refused to play anything else.

I wonder if its worth labelling it something to imply its not a starter set so much as an exercise in not hamstringing yourself for advanced players?

Where is the Henchmen information? my search fu is weak and the link in v3 is not working. I do crap-tons of product demo for my FLGS, have two boxes ready to paint and play with, and I'm always up for more games to suck income away from a certain UK-based company talking about their GrimDark...
