i love the H1 models this game offers, so when i saw Hamelin would give me an excuse to play any of them regardless of my factioni had to ponder over what this could do.

you could take candy or baby kade, or maybe even a terror tot and work it up to a mature nephilim. or maybe take an arachnid swarm and eventualy split for 3 separate models.

so what do you want to take using Hamelin's Growing influence? i would love to hear of any cross faction tactics you may have.

also does this rule allow you to take totems? and if so can you take ANY totem belonging to any specific master?

It won't allow you to take totems because the totem is required to be bonded to a master, an only one totem may be bonded to any one master (vulture and mosquito not withstanding) and since growing influence makes the ht 1 tied to hamelin, its not tied to the master, but the rest is all fair game. (I'm upset that the witchling stalkers are ht 2 :( )

So, when you take Hamelin, do you get the Ht. 1 model for free, or do you still have to pay for it. Is this mainly a way to get around faction restrictions?

pay for it,
but avoids restrictions, not sure if you still pay the +1 for out of (main) faction or not

Well, as per page 96 you need to pay an additional soulstone for non-faction models and Hamelins ability doesn't make an exception here. The only thing is: If your chosen height 1 model hasn't the mercenary trait, iyou can still hire two of those.

i really wonder if Hamelin cant hire totems. The rule book does specificly say model rules trump standard rules.

Totems have to be connected to a Master when hired. And a Master can only have one totem attached to them (unless their rules state otherwise, Nicodem, Som'er Teeth, etc.) The totems that are associated with specific Masters would probably not be able to be hired. The 'generic' faction totems, I'll have to check on. But if I were to hazard a guess I'd say no.

Moreover, they have to be sacrificed when their connected master is no longer in play. As Hamelin is not a master model, I don't think he could take ANY totem. But that is a hunch.

I think you're spot on with that one... Hamelin (in my mind) shouldn't be able to take any totem since he's not a master.

Is there a way that the crew creator will include this option when you take Hamelin?

This option is included. If you take Hamelin the Ratcatcher extra models become available, you can tell if they are hired with his special rule by the small rat by their name.

You can hire Iggy with this method in the Crew Creator, however it's stated on it's card she won't do that. Ever.

Ratty, can you fix that?

You don't need to pay the extra stone for out of faction, the ability that allows him to hire ht1's says "at no additional cost". Just like the hiring for Levi, Kirai, etc.

Growing Influence just says from any faction. You are thinking of Hamelin the Plagued who pays no additional cost.
