Greylord Ternions

Hi!

After having painted my Butcher (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v194/malebolgia/WARMACHINE/butcher_finished2.jpg) for the WARMACHINE Patrols 2006 I only had to do the Greylord Ternions for May. I did finish them in time (and made some photos...which sucked), but today I had some time for good photos of them.
The freehands on their cloaks are their spells...in Khador alphabet (from left to right: "Ice Cage", "Blizzard" and "Frost Bite").

Not bad - I like these. Nice clean colors, contrast well with each other. Not a huge fan of the runes on the back due to the rest of the colors of the miniatures, but they are very clean and eye catching which I expect is what you were after.

Pretty much what I expect from you these days - good work. :D

I don't mind the runes on the back, but I think they would be better if they picked up on the schemes color basis (red or green). But still they add something kind of mystical onto the rather boring capes. Excellent paint.

I think the runes could use a thin wash of brown or something because they look way too clean. Otherwise great miniatures. The butcher is excellent; what did you use to get the blood stain effect?

I went for icy runes...after all they are ice wizards. So a brown wash or dull colors would be too dull and not cold enough for me ;). And FF is right that they also stand out more, which looks quite cool on the battlefield
