Hey Everyone!
Here's the 2nd miniature I've painted for Crunch Waffle Miniatures- the female half orc. I think the sculpt is very expressive and I enjoyed painting it. For some reason, my glossy problems always pop up with dark colors. There's several layers of Dullcote (I think 3, maybe 4), but it didn't seem to help, obviously. sigh. Ah well, here you go:

That's very nice, Ali! Almost too nice for an orcish character! ;) She looks almost friendly, especially with the cheerful base and the flowers. I like the blue straps. they make a perfect contrast with the brown and the red.
Very cool! :thumb:

Lovely job, outstanding skintones as usual. Personally I think the slight sheen on the skin works quite well here.
How did you do the flowers?

Thank you guys!
The flowers were quite easy - they are dried caspia - they come in very large bundles at any craft store that carries dried flowers. You can remove the buds in bunches or singly, and then I tint them with reaper's clear brights, though inks also work. ;)

Hehe, ...Jason offered to do an ugly version of an orc female after this one. She's awfully purdy for an orc, all the more so painted up so smooth. I figure she's got an ambiguous heritage, but we left it at that rather than calling her a half orc. The flowers are a nice touch.
We got just the right painter for this one I think.
Lovely stuff, wonderful job on the skin!
I had trouble finding dried flowers suitable for mini bases. I had looked in Joanne's, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby on several occasions, only once finding flowers called gyp in Joanne's that aren't bad. I finally tried a Michael's, and there I had much more success, finding several different types that work. Just passing that along in case it helps someone else.

I found the dried caspia at Michael's.
Thanks again =)

She does look human enough to not be a 'monster', but when you see those eyes, you know you are in trouble!!
Great job.

...especially when you consider the function of those 2 little daggers sticking out of her off-hand. Speaking of eyes...
