Guilang rocks! But I'm not found of the scout (both paint job and sculpt).

I think the scout sculpt is all right.
The paintjob is terrible though.

Whats wrong with the paint job on the scout? I think it works well.

I ordered an infinity mini, bunched together with some other minis I ordered...I wanted to get more...but yeesh...they are spendy.

The first one looks great, probably the best sculpt in the line so far. The scout is ok, and I think it would look really good with a better paint job.

The face and guns are nice. The cloak is terrible - has no depth or shading at all. The but looks like she's wearing green paint and the color doesn't match the rest of the mini.

See, now I think that the cloak looks like it would work good for camo.

Of course I'm not going to argue with you, you're a professional....LOL

my problem with the scout is the back shot, the butt is just big round and hanging out there with a gleem off of it and riding the crack pretty hard. Just sort of more attention grabbing than I'd like.

The top one is very cool and has a nice paint job. The bottom sculpt is good IMO and the paint job is not bad except the back of the pants and the cloak.

You see how the shadows move across the fabric on the top one? They just dont do that on the back shot of the bottom one at all and there is no feeling of texture to the cloak or the back of the pants. Not that it isnt a perfectly decent piece ( I really like the base in fact and the camoe pattern is quite nice), but the quality of the paint isnt consistent across the whole miniature which is very important.

Still, I always wonder why mini companies (not this one generally, but several) will show bad paint jobs in advertising their minis when there are soooo many good painters who would do one up for swag.

I do agree with that Vince. So many painters to choose from, and many would work for free....why have a bad paintjob ever?

BUT...I still think that scout job is decent. In fact, I like the camo even more than before...so....:tongue2:

Who the heck works for free? Still, there are a lot of reasonably priced proffessional painters. Unless the company is painting it them themselves, which I can certainly see, it never seems worth the bad advertising that is an iffy paint job. Bare metal is often better then advertisingthen an actual bad paint job though.

I freely admit to paint snobbishness. I just usually dont let it show in public. ;)

I for one like both sculpts actually and think both paint jobs are pretty good - the top one being the best overall. That being said, I do understand what is being said about the bottom one and that, yes, it could be better, especially when it is being used for advertising, but it is one that I personally would be proud of if I had painted it.

And Skya, you forgot to put out your pinkey finger while drinking and you just muuuust raise your nose a bit more and look down at the peons. Can't let our lessers think they are our betters mah dear. ::putting monocle in place::
