Hey everybody!
I got to paint this miniature for Dark Sword Miniatures. I had alot of fun with it - Jim let me paint it as it suited my fancy. I have been fiddling with my red hair recipe of late, and I'm happy with how this one turned out.

I went a little crazy with the picture views and there are more at my webpage (http://www.spiritone.com/~devo/elmore2006amazon1.html).
Feel free to do the votey (http://www.coolminiornot.com/118770) thing at CMON. :)
Top notch job! Being a woman I was actually able to raise my eyes high enough to look at the face, and you did a stupendous job with it. The eyes are particularly lovely, but the whole of the face is just fantastic. Her more obvious attributes are also very well painted. The only part of the paint I'm a little enh about is the broccoli base grass.

Heh, love the tan lines, that's just great, really emphasises her breasts and draws attention to them. Only thing I 'really' don't like is the broccoli base - ack! Need some grass on that or something I think.
Not sure if you're looking for critique or not, please feel free to tell me to shoosh if you're not. The overall color scheme works quite well. Her skin tones are absolutely gorgeous and her face is incredible especially given how flat I know those faces can be at times. Everything else could use another highlight, maybe two to punch it out. Hmmm, actually the hair probably only needs one, add a little skintone ore a bit of pale golden yellow depending on the over all color effect you're going for and hit the the curve areas to give the hair a bit more volume. Dennis Mize had a thing for making his hair aweful flat and hitting the bright points on the top of the head as well as the tops of the curves in the middle of the hair would really add some volume to it. For the purples, if you're going for soft (which it currently looks like you're going for) I'd recommend one or two close shades lighter on the highlights. Going for shiny I'd recommend doing in sharp highlights with a pale lavender and working another mid tone in between that and the pruple you have there.
All in all a quite pleasing to look at peice, and as always feel free to ignore me entirely. ;)

Hey all-
Thanks for your comments so far!
With regards to the base - I agree that it needs some flock, or something, but since this was for Dark Sword and meant to show off their model, I was under the impression the base ought to be left as is - like the rest of the official models. OTOH, I didn't actually ask Jim about this, so I might have had more free reign; I don't know. :) I have another copy of the model I intend to do some kind of conversion with - I just haven't decided what, yet.
@Skya - I went back and forth alot on her hair, with RMS Burnt Orange mixed into the RMS Rust Brown to varying degrees, and I just couldn't get a natural look that I liked. Maybe I need to deepen the shadows instead? The purple is, indeed, supposed to look soft.

Great job, the tan lines are a very cool idea!

Very nice. My main dislike is the left hand though. Not your fault, but the rear pic shows it as very undefined.
The skin on her but seems rough, like gooseflesh - maybe she's cold.

- maybe she's cold.
Judging from other things, I'd say yeah, thats a possiblity! LOL

I'm not sure why her bottom looks rough - I suspect it could have something to do with the dullcote problems I've been having lately. An uneven mix of dull/gloss gives a blotchy/textured look. I definately had more re-layers of paint on her belly and legs than on her bottom, so there wouldn't be an over-abundance of paint there causing it.

Deapening the shadows would have the same volume adding affect. It wouldnt give the hair "shine" the way a couple of highlights would, but I'd say from the sounds of it that isnt what you're going for anyways.
