Really enjoyed painting this, was for MadMcgobbo's painting contest - or was supposed to be 'til I read the rules and realised he's on the wrong sized base for the category D'OH!

That's one of my favorite sculpts from Spyglass actually - have him sitting in a box somewhere and I keep promising myself that I'll paint him up one of these days.
I like what you've done on this one, nice solid job. Did you dull coate it by chance - seems like it might need a touch of that from slight gloss look on the top photo. I would have liked to have seen a few more highlights perhaps, but not by much. Like the different colors used for the scabbard.

Yup, but I did gloss the eyes/jewels/rings. Still working on my blending technique-using very thin layers of paint but I agree I could have gone a bit further.

Great work on the gems. I agree with FF's suggestion on the highlighting...such a challenge for me as well. My only other critique would have been to change the straps holding the sword a bit different color. It blends too much with the coat I think.
