I have always loved this mini, it's one of the best old school wood elves. I have had one primed and sitting around for ages, but I'll probably never paint it.

I'm looking forward to seeing progress on yours though.

If you can get the top part of the banner to look like the original Wayne England illustration, I think it could be quite quick ass ;).

For the base, how about something classic like a tilted flat rock, part of a torn down tree, and some forest branches and bushes (well, whatever you can fit on the base ;))?

since i dont play wfb i might go for a large base possibly a rounded edge display one the base it is only currently is only to hold for painting .

Sorry, I looked long and hard all over ... that pic used to be everywhere :(. I've got a copy of it somewhere at my parents' place but won't go there before 3 weeks time. If you still need it, I take a pic once there.

It looked like the totem but only more detailed.

Yes, but the texture of the materials is interesting in itself also : a cracked stone face, cream-white to red-brown feathers, lush forestry leaves, ... looked better than what I just described.

Well, considering how the wood elves at the time were the last to get their army book and then all of a sudden the rules were redone ... the army got nearly no time under the spotlight.

Just a note, internet isn't the only source of info; try pea too pea soup ;). You might find an old army book that way and have paint job examples and the artwork I mentioned above.
