nono, not our wyrd girl, but I just ran across this fun music service that is really pretty awesome
www.pandora.com
basically you put in 1 song or artist you like, then it starts streaming other related songs, and you tell it if you like or dislike the songs, and it basically keeps refining a playlist for you based on your tastes. And you can have multiple ones, for different genres and such...and then you can also share yours with others.
overall pretty fun, and seems like a great way to learn about new music and songs.
the only problem is that it seems to be all radio cuts, so the clean version of songs.

Been listening to this for the better part of three hours - fantastic service and one that I think is going to be a steady stream on my computer.
Good find Eric, thanks.

hmmm, seems I was wrong about the clean edits, started a rap album, and it certainly isn't clean, :D

My music tastes seem to be a bit obscure for this... :dontknow:
So far I've only got some good results for Delerium, but not the first 5 names I tried.
I guess that's what I get for liking non-mainstream music. :irked:

Heck, it knows Ayreon and more of my favorite music... cool (bit unexpected). Oke trying this out today. So far so good.
I can't register though to have the options from that. Only US residents can.
Edit: hmmm... you need to register to listen to more than 6 songs..... Oke just registered with a fake us postal code.. just hope the postal code police isn't gonna get me ;)

Hmmm. I entered one of my current favorites (Combichrist) and it came up with bands I already know or absolutely donīt fit. I guess for some styles, listening to a specific streamradio-station makes more sense to get to know new bands.

Sounds interesting. Does this work well on dial-up?

Doesn't Qwest have DSL in your neighborhood?

They do offer it. The problem is I just bought a new car and I am in the process of buying a condo. So I don't have a lot of disposable income.

:hijacked: I'm too much of an old Rock 'n' Roll hippie to keep up with all the new-fangled tunes out there. This is what I usually have on:

You can stream their broadcast right over your PC. Little chatter, no DJs and a great mix of genres.
