The time for entry submission is over and now we move forward with the viewing and voting for the Rotten Harvest IV Wyrd Painting Contest.
Entries have been edited, placed in their proper categories and are now up for you to view and leave comments on.
The galleries will be up a full day before opening the polls so that if there are any mistakes or discrepancies, you can let us know before the voting begins. Hopefully there are none, but if you see something that needs to be rectified or if you have a question upon, please contact me privately.
When 24 hours has passed, we'll place the voting polls up and you will be able to vote for your favorite three in their respective categories. Keep in mind, in order to vote and/or comment in the galleries, you MUST have a user account here on Wyrd.
When leaving comments in the galleries, please remember to be constructive in any critique, good or bad, and remember your manners. The moderators and myself will be reading these as we go along - keep it constructive and if it is your own entry that you are commenting on, don't give yourself away over it as it would be a shame to disqualify you for something easily avoided.
When the polls are placed, they will be open for seven days. In that time, please take a moment to vote for your favorite three in each category. The top three in each category will win, respectively 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. Best of Show, Best Base or Diorama and Best of Wyrd naturally only have one winner.
In order to encourage participation in the voting and commenting on the galleries, we will choose five RANDOM SCHMUCKS to win prizes for voting on all the categories and commenting on all of the entries.

Yeah comments you can start on, though keep in mind that I've got atleast one entry that didn't make it over due to server hiccups which we'll be adding in later today and I hope that no others to be honest as I hate 'loosing' something like that.
Polls will go up after 24 hours, give or take, but ya'll are free to start commenting away.

Many thanks to Jim and Nathan. There are some really great entries and it will be hard to vote. The harrowing harvest is like all deadly duel category in the different contests : you never have a lot of entries in such categories.
That's why the "Moavoamoatu rule" appeared in this contest. There were only 5 entries in the Femme Fatale deadly duel category and I posted 3 of them.
I think that most of the time people don't want to bother painting more than a single miniature.....that's what killed me in Iron Painter : I painted too many miniatures for each diorama, especially the last one.

Not too many entries this time !
I wonder why ?
I painted over 20 minis for this contest and only 8 became actual parts of entries (3 entries in all); my main problem is actually photography : for some reason the contrast or saturation appear different on this forum compared to my original pix on my monitor, therefore I usually get comments on lack of shading and highlighting which do not reflect the actual miniatures.
This time, I followed some advice given to me on this very forum and invested in some daylight bulbs and the result is much better. Still I need to work on overall composition and photography touch up (I'm unable to use photoshop and resort to basic picasa or irfanview, but they have their limitations), and maybe this Xmas will get me a new camera ...
Anyway, quantity doesn't matter as much as quality and there are some beautiful entries out there, so kudos to all participants !
I'll start commenting and voting this weekend.
Cheers !

There is a new entry in the NQDY category.
It wasn't a late entry, but one that somehow slipped through the cracks.
I've now uploaded it, please make sure you check it out before voting (which will be coming soon!)
Thanks all!

Ok, good....the polls haven't opened yet. I was looking through the entries and thinking to myself - "How the hell am I supposed to vote on these....I don't see any poll-looking thing anywhere." I thought it said the polls were supposed to be up by now, but if they aren't, then at least I'm not crazy (not because of the polls, anyway).

Polls will go up shortly - we've had an addition that didn't make it due to a server hiccup and we've had a removal due to being entered in another contest and shown publicly. That's one of the reasons why we have this time in between.
The delay this time about is because I'm in Alaska and there is some down time between emails for me where as before it was pretty much constant. Jim has been doing an excellent job of covering for me though.

Sorry folks. I just haven't gotten a free moment to get those polls done, between house guests, car accidents, and work business....
But, look for them soon.
Apologies!

Hello fine forum folks!!
Very sorry about those polls. I posted them all tonight (sunday evening) and much to my chagrin, not only were they acting wacky from the get go, they would not record votes correctly. I've since deleted all the polls, so I'm back to square one.
I've passed the troubles onto Nathan, but I apologize profusely for the delay.
If you were holding your breath for the polls, I'd suggest sucking some air 'bout now....

Hey folks,
Jim has been doing a fantastic job on working on this while I'm out of touch 99% of the day.
This might have been caused do to a modification I installed about a month or so back so I've gone ahead and disabled and removed it, putting us in a software setup that we've had for some several months now. Jim is putting everything back up now. If for some reason it takes a header into the ground I'll take a heavy look into it tonight after I get back from work (which I'm late for leaving right now).
Sorry for the delays and thanks again Jim.
