I was just wondering what you guys thing of a gang using Seamus, Canine Remains, rotten belles, Madame Sybelle, and crooked men. I was wanting:
Theme: Mining Town
1X Seamus (3Pool)
3X Canine Remains
1X Rotten Belles
1X Madame Sybelle
2X Crooked Men
and either keep the three soul stones or picking up a copycat killer
this gives me a lot of control and some range not to slow either. i know it is better to plan around your schemes but i think a list like this gives me a nice core.
at higher points a gun slinger, Dead Rider (Sheriff), Nurse, The Hanged, some more Bells, maybe a Dead Doxy
As A new Player I wanted your opinion on the list and the theme.

Hi Lance
I'm not a resser expert but I'll have a go :)
I think your list is a good start for a crew. I think the main thing is to get a few games in and feel your way from their.
The only thing I would look to change may be the Canine Remains. I'm not sure what they'd do thematically or practically in the game. I'd be tempted to swap them both for another Belle or a Grave Spirit (mining collapse victim) and a deperate mercenary (tavern regular).
So somthing like this;
Ressurectionists Crew - 25 - Scrap
Seamus, The Mad-Hatter -- 6 Pool
Grave Spirit [1ss]
Crooked Man [4ss]
Crooked Man [4ss]
Madame Sybelle [6ss]
Desperate Mercenary [2ss]
Rotten Belles [4ss]
Whatever you go make sure it looks fun for you and let us know how you get on :D

Some people use the Canine Remains in a Seamus crew, as a cheap way of hiring another Belle, but they need to ensure they have or get the 10:crows or higher for it to work. Personally I think your high :crows are better used elsewhere. And probably in Seamus crew the Desperate Merc might be a much better choice if he gets to offload a load of shooting alongside Seamus.

Belles are so cost effective that I do not usually see anyone butchering dogs to then summon them. I think its a fine list, but to me, I *ALWAYS* add Avatar to Seamus now as an "awesome button" that you can push if/when the time is right.
As you mention, build to your strats/scheme but I do not think you will find anyone arguing that those models are not all good choices to have in the toolbox.

Copy Cat, though an awesome model/concept, is really sub-par for Seamus. If Mistaken Identity didn't require a mask I'd use the little guy a lot more, but since it doesn't I always take a Grave Spirit instead. Armor +2 on Sybelle is a beautiful thing, considering how resilient she already is.

Agree. Love the concept of the Copycat, dislike how he actually performs. Grave Spirit will serve you much better.

thank you guys for the help, the dogs are there for a little extra speed, counters, rabies for the will duals, and getting that negative two on a big guy when with seamus to put a bullet through their armor. But I might use another bell and grave spirit as stated or go for the gunslinger right away. I agree the copycate is a little underwellming execially if get the gun slinger and i have the crooked med for range anyway.

I most often run a Convict Gunslinger or Hanged instead of Sybelle, and generally would take another Belle over dogs. But everything is personal preference.
My own seamus crew is set by theme - its built to be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory :)
The list is:
Seamus (willy wonka)
3 rotten belles (oompaloompas)
3 canine remains (Augustus gloop, violet Beauregard, Verruca salt)
Copycat killer (mike teevee)
Grave spirit (Charlie bucket)
Von Schill (grandpa joe)
I use proxy models for most of this of course (seamus and Von Schill are the only ones not proxied).
I'm still learning how to use it, but I don't go killing the bad kids (canine remains) for corpse counters, they instead run as a pack around objectives.

Just adding to Ratty's comment here, but a belle and a convict is a truly deadly force. Like, awesomely deadly.

i've found a belle plus a damage dealer tends to be a great combo in almost all resser lists.

I'm fairly new as well so don't take my word for law but I have been trying out a few different variations of Seamus crews so I can lend a little advice.
Your list looks pretty good, running Belles and Crooked Men together is great for board control. I'd hang on to the three soul stones as Seamus typically burns through his stones pretty quickly with the low Cb of his flintlock while the Copycat Killer really doesn't do as much for the crew. If you want a totem I'd recommend the Grave Spirit which makes Sybelle unstoppable and is a bargain at 1 soul stone. The stones spent on Canine Remains would probably do better on something heavier-hitting, I've found that while Seamus is very resilient his crew lacks the ability to dish out damage so it might be worth it to take those out (they seem like the least synergistic of your crew) and springing for a model like The Hanged or Bete Noire to avoid losing strategies like Slaughter. While the canine remains are great for corpse counters Seamus doesn't really use these nearly as much as other Resser masters (e.g. McMourning) as the only model he can summon is a Belle and he requires high crows to cast that.
At higher points I'd go for The Hanged or Bete Noire (if you don't use them already) and no more than one more Belle OR Dead Doxy. It would also be a good idea to leave Seamus with at least five soulstones.
As far as theme goes mercenaries would probably be a welcome addition to a mining town though I'm not very well-versed in the fluff yet.

The other thing people haven't mentioned is Night Terrors. Seamus isn't the most reliant on Corpses (so the fact they are spirits isn't a huge deal) and I've seen 4 of these things used for great effect on strats that need mobility. They are practically unstoppable for Deliver a Message.

Only 4?
My norm is a pack of 6 i am wanting more. Night terrors are amazimg.

I also like the fact they don't block LoS so Seamus can pop out and take a shot at a model the other side of them.

Completely forgot to mention that but yes definitely pick up some Night Terrors they can tear across the board like nothing else
