Sue's in black, finally!!!
Rasputinas are awesome, and zoraid avatar is spectacular, but i 'm wondering why did you make an old topless Zoraida( :6) and a young one with a clothed top? XD
I'm a bit disappointed by kiray, she is my favorite master and I was expecting much more for her avatar.
Anyway good job, as always, guys.

Wowaweewa, took me suprise there.
Have to say my three favourite models there are McTavish (get in my Marcus crew naw), Ten Thunder Brothers (soo cool) and... uh.. err... EPA?
But yeah, great releases present (past) and future :D

I was actually surprised. When I saw last month the price versus what the art reflects (Ramos isn't big) I though there might have been something more to the sculpt. :)
Are these swarm in his avatar box and the new blister in Jan just including a 40mm base for the swarm?

All of the Avatars look bad :( OK, Ramos' is just lackluster and Zoraida is a good sculpt but the crazy sexy is unneeded and overwhelming there (and I say that as a person who isn't bothered by nudity in minis). Kirai and Rasputina are kinda pants and definitely the worst from Wyrd in a long time.
Other than those, the alts I'm not all that fond of but they aren't bad per se. Sue and Rafkin are all right, Ten Thunders are great (better than I expected and I expected them to rock) as is McTavish. Don't see myself buying any of the minis depicted but I have some backlog when it comes to Malifaux so just as good I suppose.

Overall, pretty cool. I'm excited about Ramos, but there's definitely some bit of him that just doesn't seem to have as much punch as like Sonnia's Avatar. Overall pretty great though, and I like the arc of electrical energy between his hands.
Oh, and getting the Arachnids with him is absolute WIN. :D
Rasputina is....interesting...dunno, the model looks more blocky than the art did or something. Still, excited about it overall.
Oh, and Sue looks just fantastic. :)

I like the single eye, unsure about the Afro
The Afro
The tiny daft looking face
The giant body out of proportion with the legs
The static pose
The fact that none of its limbs look like they have joints
The triangular groin
Sorry but it's just not a nice model.
In contrast, McTavish, Ten Thunders, Sue, Rafkin, all look excellent.

Personally I think the vast majority of these releases are pretty solid, some even pretty awesome, and none of it even what I'd call poor. The Z Avatar and Sue I'll get just to paint even if I never use them in a game. And the Exorcist not only looks cool, but as it turns out he'll work out closely to the plans I had to add to my Dead Justice crew.
I honestly feel that, looking over the releases from a little while back now, the quality of the sculpts at Wyrd just continues to improve. as a modeler first and a gamer second, this makes me really happy. My thanks to all involved in putting those little tiny works of art into our hands.

Great Releases overall. I'm neutral on the Tina Avatar, could have been better, but could have been worse...not bad overall, I kinda like the Afro tbh haha.
Sue, Rafkin and McTavish all look great as well.
As for the Kirai Avatar, I think the angle doesn't do it justice, it's a cool model (I have one from Gencon), the only problem is the arms don't fit flush to the body , kinda like this )l It's odd, but it seems like it would take a lot of green stuff work to get it right, and I'm kinda lazy with GS so it'll stay that way for a while. Otherwise though, a cool model, even though if I don't like it in the game much.

The Zoraiada scupts comes straight from Frank Frazetta but without that primal Frazetta aura and Rafkin... I look at that and see (what I suspect) was set out to be a McMourning alternative. Change the hair a bit and put a mask over the big smiley teeth and... You have this figure called Rafkin.

The new models look simply Boss. :D
One question though, that the implications of give me the shakes (after assembling the executioner and 12 individual spiders....) - how many pieces do avatar Ramos, avatar Tina, and the alt. spiders come in?
I am half tempted though, to greenstuff some flares onto avatar Tina. Fluffy edging on the bottom, a funky spray job on the afro, and a monocle, and you'd have one wicked looking 70's dancing golem. It'd look just the thing with the original Tina sculpt! :D

I must speak strongly against this horrible practice of releasing at least 1~2 models I want every month. I can't resist and must order them piecemeal, while it should be possible to pool up the orders!
Molly Box and Machine in October... Gunsmith + some stuff in November... Sue and Rafkin in December... when will it stop?!?
Seriously though, great models!

Amazing work, it's hard to pick a favorite. Kirai and Zoraida are fantastic, Sue and Exorcist are extremely well done. Ramos never looked better and I'd buy alternate Rasputina simply to paint. Great preview. Look forward to seeing the Weaver Widow and Witchling Handler if/whenever those are released.

Good releases overall. Ten Thunders took me by surprise and win my coveted "Best of Batch" award. They'll find a home on my shelf despite likely never seeing play in my crews.
I'm hot and cold on Kirai's avatar, tbh. Something about it doesn't sit right with me; I like the concept but I'm not sold on the execution. The parts are all there, I simply don't like how they fit together. I'm hoping a minor alteration and minimal greenstuff will ease my troubled mind.

Ow so glad to hear about the second head. I Prolly wil greenstuff raspy's avatar to make it bigger. Right now its a bit to "squashed" to my liking. Bit longer upper legs, extra ab in its torso might make it up to my excpectations.
Like the leg feet and arms like is. But this would be a perfect nightmare model for next year

Not gonna lie, I greatly dislike the Avatar Rasputina and Avatar Ramos model. The former, because that is seriously the worst head to put on the model (AFRO HAIR AND BELLBOTTOMS) and that it's incredibly static, blocky, and in no way intimidating; though it matches the concept art well, it did so TOO well, and suffers accordingly.
Ramos just looks flat-out ugly. The electrical fire arc comes off as tacky, his legs seems somehow stumpy, and his face is all kinds of comical. With a bit of conversion work he's salvageable (or a really fantastic paint job) but as it is...well. Do not want.
Zoraida and Kirai are alright. I've seen Zoraida's avatar first-hand and it's a decent model, even if the face is just a tad wonky (I think it's the chin, mostly). Kirai's claws could use some extension work--they don't look like razor-sharp nails and are a tad stumpy, though I can't really fault them on that since you can't physically make them thin like it is in the art without coming across molding problems. She does, however, fit kind of weird and makes me question why they cut the model the way they did.
Sue looks like he has a bit of a gut, but I think that's just the paintjob and the angle of the photo playing some weird tricks. Still gonna preorder him, however.

Like some, dislike some.
I'm suprised by Exorcist, he looks alot plainer than I expected, almost like a guild guard with a crossbow arm added.... Ten Thunders are not what I expected but nice all the same although the guy with the big hammer is begging to have one of those carnival "Hit the hammer and ring the Bell" type things added to his base! :D Will get Rafkin for my rezzers. I know my Lady will love the Ramos Avatar. I have a massive dislike of the Avatar Kirai... I like the concept but the model looks awful... I think the spirit part is the worst bit... horrible! :(
Out of these releases I think the Outcasts have the better looking models of the bunch...

Overall I really like the new releases. My favorites in the group are Av Ramos, Ten Thunder Bothers, Rafkin and Sue. I disagree with everyone that says the legs look to clunky or fat. To me they look as though they could actually support his weight. Also if you don’t like the Electrical arc then just cut it off and GS some flames or something. I for one will be keeping it exactly as is. Also I already own the Alt Ramos and Av Kirai models and am very happy with them as well. I am however not a fan of the new Alt spiders. I probably one of the few people who prefer the old ones even though they came as multi part models. The new ones look far to futuristic for my tastes and I liked the ability to position the legs however I wanted. So to that end I would have preferred the new Av Ramos to be less expensive and be without the new spiders. Also I already have all of the spiders that I need so to me it feels like Im having to pay extra for something I won’t be using.

Love all of them, full of character, great details and great paintjobs on those too.
I'm a little worried on how you would stick Avatar Ramos to a base. Spider legs on his model look too thin to support him...
My thoughts exactly. I was thinking that perhaps making four small holes in the base for the metal legs might help but that depends on how much of the model is metal and how much is resin.

Wow...some awesome models there...
I will definitely be getting myself two exorcists, to complete my Justice crew.
Avatar Zoraida is really tempting me to start a new master..must resist, must resist.
And Sue! Woohoo! But can anyone tell me if his guitar is a separate piece? Just curious...That model without the guitar will be ideal as an Absolution Black model (trying to build up a crew based on my stories).
I'll get sue anyway, but if the guitar is separate I'll get two! Theres an incentive for you Wyrd to answer my question!

I love everything except Tina Avatar. That model fell far short of what I was originally expecting. The Tina Alt sculpt however is leaps and bounds better than the original. If I had to pick a favorite out of the group it would have to be the Ten Thunder Brothers and I cant wait to add them to my Vic crew. My second favorite would Sue and then Avatar / Alternate Ramos.

I think they should be plenty, there isn't much of the model to support.
I think the LSA has thinner legs, and mine sits happily with only 4 touching the base.
On the assumption that they are seperate, you can probably have him standing on something if you're woried.
Looking forward to assembling it in a month or so...

Well I have to admit to being impressed by the new Ramos models (I may have to collect a crew now, breaking my Women & Children only trend!) whilst McTavish and Sue were every bit as good as I was hoping for.
Also, loving Rasputina's avatar, beautiful model and I think I'll be getting one to add to my Raspy crew (which is display only right now, and that avatar would be a welcome addition to it).

I've been torn with the new models. There are quite a few models in the current line that I absolutely adore, but some of the new re-sculpts and Avatars don't seem to match the old style. Sonnia Criid for instance:
In her old model (one of my favorites) she can a very calm, appraising look about her, holding her cigarette very matter-of-factly as if sizing someone up. Her hair is very neatly maintained and she has an air of business around her.
Now her new model throws most of her old features out the window. Instead of have a smooth face, her appearance is more rigid and her nose is more hawk-like. Her stance, while being more dynamic, doesn't convey that utter air of superiority that the last pose did (her body language is actually more desperate, than confident).
My biggest complaint is her hair though. Instead of having a nice natural flow to it, it's straight back and straw-like. Same thing with her avatar (which I like more, as a whole), lots of nice, rounded, flowing likes in her clothes and the Salamander, but as soon as you get to her head it's straight back and straw.
What happened? I know that art styles change and evolve, but even when you compare the new models to the new artwork, they don't sync up (again, I'm mostly talking about Sonnia on this one).
Can anyone shed any light on this?
P.S.- I think Avatar Razzy's Golem look fine with the fro. If anything I'm going to modify her body sticking out of it. There's some kind of weird dimensional boob/knees relationship going on with her pose that kind of throws me off... :/

Sonnia is Sonnia. While I can't really comment on the hair, I do feel that her alternative shows her in.. well an alternative light. Her original (which while not owning, I'm not a big fan of) has an air of control and sophistication, while her alternative show that composure lost and replaced with a barely controlled fire of both rage and desperation, which in case you haven't read book 3, Chocobo has slightly spoilt (despite not exactly knowing the full facts).
Sonnia is one of my favourite original - alternative masters, because they're both different and work. Ramos I'm not impressed with, his previous version was ok, and while this alternative seems to show him in a more combative light, the pose looks awkward and static, and the cheeky bum flash highlights it. I'd leave the mechanical worm thing out alltogether.
Rasputina, I didn't like her original but like her alternative though the cloak in my opinion cries out for a desperate, on the run look like Sonnia, but then that probably wouldn't fit 'Tina very well - at least until she finds a soul ;)
The alternatives should provide outdated sculpts with a fresh optional replacement, while providing a different mood to the character's visual spectrum. Sonnia is a great example, but some look like they're either going to be worse than the original, while others are just going to have a wardrobe change. Rasputina, Sonnia, Som'er, Marcus, etc have all convinced me to (eventually) get their crews based purely on the clinching alternative. Pandora, Lilith, Viktorias, Ramos, etc, have done the opposite (which is a shame because the fluff of some of those characters in book 3 certainly tempted me).
I'm a little confused with avatars as they seem to work rulewise, but what Eric said about not accepting designs until they cried "paint me I'm awesome" seems missing. Quite a few of the avatars seem rather tame, even unimaginative. They still "work", they look nice, they're painted well which is important and they're something you'll likely want, but I find it hard to imagine the people at Wyrd looking at some of them and have a mindgasm, because my mind is far from blown.

Another lot of fantastic releases, Rafkin looks amazing. The only thing I'm not keen on is alternate Ramos, for some reason he looks frustrated whilt in the artwork he seems calm, he might look better if I moved the arm down and make the coat hang down and take the extra peice from the base, though that being said, I am a huge fan of the original.

Wow some good minis here.
I'm not sure about the Rasputina Avatar though. Could be the pics, just doesn't look quite right to me. Maybe the sculpt is a little too out there for me?
Anyways the rest is great and I love the alt Rasputina.

Only really pay attention to the resser stuff, but am loving Rafkin. Really like the work on the base, and I've now done my flesh construct with a similar tiled floor pattern. Want to have all the surgeon type models on the same now :)

Yeah...I wouldn't know. I mostly only hang out in the miniatures sub-forums. I get out infrequently, at best.

Remember back in like June, when all the releases got bumped a month so that models released in said month would actually arrive near the beginning of a month. Has that been scrapped? I'd love to buy myself some Xmas presents before Xmas actually happens. The three local gaming stores all say the stuff has not even hit the distributor, so they are predicting Jan for the Dec models.

Looks like the December releases have a date of the 16th. So if you order them on the 16th, they should be able to get to you before Christmas.

Pre-ordered a Kaeris crew from Maelstorm Games, and I'm still waiting for them to get them into stock.
They're blaming Wyrd for the delay.
Not holding my breath for getting my Exorcist or Sue anytime soon then :(
So I bought Hoffman, a mech Helper and a Peacekeeper to tide me over.

I also pre-ordered Kaeris and didn't get it. Nathan said that the demand far outstripped supply and that they are working on getting them back out. I also ordered a new Rasputina Avatar and Alternate from a different distributor a couple of weeks ago but the order still shows as awaiting stock. Doesn't look like any of my Christmas Presents are going to make it in time for the big day!

@ Fishtank, you might want to reduce your sig to 1 line of pics, we've been asked to limit them to that ;)

Neither of the two companies I order from in the UK have got the stock in. Last guaranteed posting date for Christmas is tomorrow. I need a miracle now in order to unwrap anything next Sunday!

The likely uk arrival time for most of the December releases seems to be Thursday 22nd of December, but I will be in Spirit Games all week next week & will steal one of the works PC's to post if it comes in before that as we have been ordering these and hoping for the best every week since they where due for release.
I have an interest in it because I want & have on order an Austriger and more Guild Guards amongst other things.
